Pulling the seats and carpet out of the 80 tonight, going to go the Detergent & Pressure washer route with the carpets. Might not put it back in the cargo area and herculine that instead, maybe bolt in a few ammo cans for lidded storage back there.

I have some leather conditioner for the seats and some rubber cleaner from Griots that I want to hit all the window channels with. Detail out the dash, use my trusty foaming fabric cleaner for the headliner and a Magic Eraser for the dirty grab handles and such.

Should look slick when I'm all done. :) :)
 
Drove a 700 mile trip with the FJC around NH from Canadian border to Hampton Beach with some Class 6 roads thrown in. Thursday night....8 miles from the house, the driver's rear tire lost all 6 lugnuts at 40 mph. I was able to slow down and pull over with the rim riding around the brake rotor. JUST as I had the truck off the pavement, the wheel fell off and the rotor dragged in the dirt 10ft until I could stop. No damage to rotor or wheel studs. Went back to the house, pulled 6 lugnuts off the 62, put the wheel back on, and finished the trip event free.

I think I learned the hard way that when you switch from nice OEM flanged nuts to acorn nuts that fit aftermarket wheels....you have to increase the torque spec. I always use a torque wrench to 85 ftlbs, but for the acorns will go to 100. Ironic thing is that a 2000 4runner on the trip almost had the same thing happen. He felt something weird on the road at 50mph....powered the mirror down so he could see the rear wheel and saw it wobbling. When he stopped, the lug nuts were loose and turnable by hand.

Not too shabby. Travelled with a 96 Lexus LX450, 00 4runner, 04 Taco, some jeep, and the FJC. Tent camped...Mt Washington...Kankamangus Highway at sunrise.... Class VI roads I have never been on... one night in B&B.

The wheels are Pro-Comps that I ordered from 4 wheel parts wholesalers. They have the tapered hole that the OEM lug nuts wont fit. I ordered all new lug nuts with the wheels and the driver's rear was the only one to loosen up. I actually suspect a problem with the spacer. I ordered 1" spacers and I think this one is a little thin as the OEM wheel studs stick out ever so slight and dig in to the back of the aluminum wheel.

This sucks

Just got a call from my boss, seems that one of
my co-workers decided to cut some tree's down this afternoon.
Didn't go well and he dropped it on himself. Very dead.
Same guy did this about 10 years ago and was hurt bad enough to be out of work
for 6 months. Could have retired already but didn't.
Man life can be short.

Ya know, Paul was kind of a strange guy, very nice but a little strange.
He had gone in about 18 months ago and had heart surgery which went well.
About a month later he has a stroke which sidelined him for a few months.
He came back to work (a bit spacey, had trouble remembering things)
and we all were telling him to retire while he could still enjoy it before
something else happened. Stubborn.

retired or not that tree was meant to kill him, it had to come down and he was the guy to do it.

My father is lucky to have survived his days with a chainsaw. It's one of Darwin's tools I'm afraid. I saw my father get himself is some real jambs and he would go right at it the same way again. Never learned a thing from all those close calls. My brother almost lost all his fingers one day. The blade ran up one side and down the other of three fingers just brushing the skin of them.

x2 on who found the guy and hope they are doing OK.

He was at his brothers and they were together.
A very somber day at the office.
 
So Dave, how's the detailing/cleaning going?
 
Haven't started, nothing but cold rain the last 2 nights. I'm not supposed to lift anything heavy for a couple more days so it's probably best that I'm procrastinating. :)

Need to dig up some small wheels and tires and see if I can get it into my garage.
 
Just let some air out of the tires.
Do you have enough room to put in a higher door?
