There is a race today between rock crawlers and desert racers at the hammers today. 50 miles through the desert then through the rocks. It looks like the desert racers will blow past the rockcrawlers on the sand, then break in the rocks, then the crawlers will have a heck of a time getting around them. 42 rigs with some big names. I found the link in the landcruiser section of pirate 4x4.
MMMM friday... I need another cup of coffe, and its snowing, but not a plowable amount... looks like Ill have a shop day and maybe get something work related finished.... yea right its cold down there.
dave.... i am late here but congrats on the new job and the new direction. my fav. buzzword was used, web 2.0. it is my focus these days, we build everything in Flex for our customers. Allurent - Powering Superior Online Shopping
Web 3.0? No idea. Presumably the stuff I'll be expected to do when I finish the Web 2.0 implementation.
First week in the books and it's been a great experience, really flexes the gray matter, which I feel like I haven't done in years. I've never been involved with a business like this before, based around "ideas" and less about product. It's fascinating stuff.
I'll gladly trade places with ya. Just spent all mornin plowin puddles, again. Seems like it can't snow in Ct without rainin twice as much at the tail end of the storm. I've never seen so much rain in February than we just had. Bummer, but such is Yankee life.
We drove thru Kina's area on Sunday, it was amazing how much snow they had there!
Starting from Conway and south to about Laconia you couldn't see over the snow banks.
4-5' of snow up on the roofs, we saw one house where the snow had slid off of the metal
roof and it was piled up all the way to the eaves. Snowmobilers are pretty happy this year!
franky's sleepin
snow finally reached shop eaves at 12 feet
lost 30 feet of shed due to snowload
had to be section with 83 40 and bj70
got 70 out
"fixed" roof over 40
that was around christmas
been diggin ever since
Really Really Really Really didn't want to come into work today. Been here for and hour already and only send one email that was work related. Thought about taking the day off but I think that the weather is supposed to be crappy later.
On a side note, yesterday I cut through the 60 I am parting out with a sawsall. Now I have two large pieces.
just got in an argument with my boss... went to the local coffee shop to work from there (free wireless everywhere in austin) and a bird s*** in my coffee. thankfully i noticed it plop in or i would have drank it, it looked no different that the cream in there.
the truck is going to be between $1 and $2k and that doesnt count the A/C which is completely blown. it'll be $1,500 for parts and labor. not doing that right now. so, the truck will be perfect in a few months.
