Any of you guys tried welding alluminum before. Got a free lawn tractor with cracked engine block. Would like to fix it as the tractor is only 5 years old

went down to the DMV to re-title my 40 in anticipation of driving it this year. They want to fine me .04 on the sales tax for every day since the purchase. It's been 4 1/2 years.

I'm hoping I'm wrong but it looks like they will use around 14,000 for value. I didin't want to hand over the papers because she said the system will just kick out the number. I was afraid that once she started entering the info backing out wouldn't be an option. I'm going to go down to the insurance company and see what they know about it.
