Hi to all,

i am new in this forum,
i clean and rebuild my 1978 FJ40 aisan Carburetor,
i remove all Main jets and slow jets and want replace with new one,
but i forget which jets are primary and which are Secondary ?

in my rebuild carb kit there are these jet sizes:

Main jets: with 200, 180, 138,132 number,

Slow jets: only one jet with 65 number
this means that Secondary slow jet not necessary to replaced ?!

what are the best main jet and slow jet sizes for best performance?

Thanks...

I would suggest dipping your existing jets (main and slow) in the carb cleaner and reusing them. They should be fine unless they are buggered up. I reused my slow jets and they were complete clogged up, after the dip I blew them out with compressed air and they were fine.

You should be able to read the jet sizes once they are cleaned up which will tell you what you had originally. If you are high alt you can adjust from there if needed.

You can also go to the web and look at toyotapartszone to see the jets for your carb for reference. Good luck with the rebuild.

This is for 78 Europe model FJ40.

Thanks dear friends,

what are the best main jet and slow jet sizes for best performance? did anyone try ???

Does your carb have the factory jet sizes in it, and are you operating your truck near sea level? If so, why do you suspect that different jets will give you better performance?

my location elevation is about (1,638 m) or (5,374 ft),

in this location what are the best jets sizes???

Thanks

I am running into a issue finding new slow jets. I took my carb apart and noticed that the slow jets are cracked. I assume from over tightening. Does anyone know where I can buy replacements?
