what r u trying to say? we waffle? or just get lost before we start? so do we meet at Ba'ja or the fry's in Gold Canyon, and get lost from there? (at least its a start...)

oh yeah - which day and time?

 :)

Look at the graph. We're not close to make such a decision just yet. :D

And I'm fine with either WC, or 393, or better both....

Re WC: Red is the WC trail as we did it on New Years's, green is Battleaxe, coming up from Coke Ovens. The issue is the red part at the bottom, along the river - that was slated for closure. I've lost track whether any of these proposed closures in the Middle Gila RMP went through?

just a heads up until we decide where to meet:

we are going wheeling on Friday and we are also going wheeling on Saturday

the only thing we need to decide is what we are doing when - so get organized, folks :bounce:

Claudia and myself are planning to go out Friday and Saturday.

Since nobody else suggested anything:

Walnut Canyon - Friday or Saturday

WC: very scenic, not very difficult. We had adopted a stock FJC and brought them along the entire trail last time - that was New Year's day '09; a few ruts and washed-out spots. Stem-loop trail. Landscape is mountains, canyons, Gila river. Trail starts at Battleaxe turnoff off 177 southeast of Superior. Meeting spot would be Basha's at Gold Canyon, then caravan off to Superior.

FR393 - Friday or Saturday

FR393: Rolling saguaro desert northwest off Beeline, runs under Power line to Bartlett lake, site of the Saguaro cactus massacre under the Power line. One way in to the lake is maybe 20 or so miles. Supposedly "regularly graded" :). Don't know about difficulty; last time we drove it mostly in the dark, took us 3 hours to come out, and we were hauling... there was one narrow offcamber turn at the edge of the ravine that was interesting in the dark... Easiest (?) would be in/out FR393, alternative is to drive Log Corral one way (in or out), but that's more difficult (as in lockers needed) with a lot of brush. I'd prefer 393 in and out, and explore the spur down to the lake (the extension of Log Corral) and down to the river below Bartlett i.e. 393 itself. Supposedly, there is no more river crossing, so one can't get across where 393 hits the Verde. Meeting spot would be Ba'ja gas station off Beeline.

What say ye?

gotta work Friday:frown:

Have fun and take pictures ~

sounds like 393 or the 160(?) option for friday. Kevin couldn't locate the 160 pix so it must be time to return. Either way me thinks that means Ba'ja tomorow morning and the Basha's @ Gold Canyon (I thought it was a Fry's but I'm old and my memory's flagging...) Saturday. Mr. Tools? Brother Rob? Since BR is working Friday he might have a preference of days and Jackson can make the Saturday WC, so....

sounds like Walnut Canyon for Saturday then; it's a Basha's @ Gold Canyon

Ba'ja Friday is easier for us anyway, since we still need to retrieve Michael's truck tomorrow morning

Michael's on the phone with Kevin - a decision is gelling as we speak......:bounce:

I took the liberty of splitting off each day into it's own thread, so we don't get into trouble with one member.:o:D

There is the probability of wheeling on Sunday, will need to be a shorter day, later meet. Any trail suggestions/preferences?
