I do the starter bump method myself. It is a royal pain by yourself. This is why i purchased a 3/4 inch gun. Way more power. Now to get the air lines i need for it.

Done the starter bump method before, I've found the best thing is a big ass impact

Got it off this morning, used the 14mm socket through the inspection port, 10 min, only because I wasted time trying to line up the destination nut. Being solo, thought I couldn't get the socket to stay in place until I put some pressure on it. But, it wound up staying in place just fine.

This was so simple and easy, not sure why I'd do it any other way in the future.

On to the oil pump cover screws and how many of them I'll have to drill out. I bought a handful of #3 Phillips head bits, maybe I'll get this thing back on the road again...

Impact driver should be your friend on those Jerry. Good to see you got past this hurdle.

Doubt I'll go to that length but the vulcanizing compounds seem to make some sense...

From my days as a bicycle mechanic I remember Rema Tip Top makes a sidewall repair compound.

TS? T2? TS2 Something like that.

Rema makes some good stuff.

I finally got things put back together enough that I could take it for a test drive with the new shoes.

Not as bad as I expected. As compared to the SS SSR's on the FJC, not too bad at all. Only took it up to 65 mph but no shimmy, shake or vibes other than what one might expect out of a military tire. I've got them pumped up to 32psi, used 10oz of air soft pellets to balance, not the quietest thing I've ever driven, but not the worst.

Now that I know for sure that I want to keep them, I'll make the investment in the vulcanizing compound I linked above and see if I can save these tires...

Looks great! Not that I would expect anything else from you!

Rig looks good Jerry. I hope that the tires work out for you.

That air cleaner hat looks sweet :D

Figure out the shroud?

Mean Jerry, damn mean!! Love it dude.

Thanks guys, still a very long list to go but had to get these on so I can go get it inspected :censor:

re-shroud...no. I haven't messed with it yet, I'll still need to install the OBA (I do have the pulley on, just need to do the bracket/York/etc), I'll mess with it then.

re-tires...I ordered the "2lb" pack (4lbs total), should be here next week. I'll experiment on the 6th tire I acquired in the deal since its off the truck and easy to mess with a system that might work.

re-OEM snorkel...I had the opportunity to pick on up in a group buy and glad I went with the "70" hat instead of the "80 birdhouse" hat.

I really like the flares on a "stock" rig, but really like the lines of the 80 without them, makes me think of the 60 on roids. :grinpimp:

I've started laying out the lines how I want to run the rub rails/tube fender/excuse to use the bender some more and the Raptor line, if one at all. I'm planning on running off the Slee, along the fender, down to the slider (to come) and from the rear of the slider to the 4X4 bumper.

Of course, there is still finishing the rear axle rebuild, the PT transfer case conversion w/Marlin gear, swapping both re-geared axles and t-case, build the rear tire swinger, finish OBA (including hardware, lines, chuck), building the sliders, dual battery w/junction box, yeasu 8800, CB radio...no problem.

Then, I think about what the FJ45 project list...:bang::bang::bang::doh:

 I agree. The 80 was meant to be without those flares.

At least you have the majority of the drivetrain parts for both trucks

So many projects, so little time...................
