Hey All,

Curious if any Texas members have seen this rig in person. Looks good, Carfax is all Texas. My Lexus service history shows a gap between 2012 and now. Last reported service was actually a tow to the selling dealership.

Curious as I am researching southern LX as a possible replacement for my 2005. Transport to Minnesota, plus our terrible sales tax, probably set me back $2K. But if this is a solid rig, no rust, might be a good long term plan. Likely this rig is due for it's 2nd TB/WP, not shown on the CarFax.

2006 Lexus LX 470 - Houston, TX - Sterling McCall Lexus - 64017395

As someone who has looked at several vehicles at SMT (100 and 200’s), I would not under any circumstances deal with Sterling McCall Toyota. If you insist go in with your eyes wide open and verify everything.

Copy- Thanks- I appreciate your on the ground perspective.

Quick follow up: Just received the below message. I will close out this thread shorty. But will keep for a certain period of time, for other MUD users to be advised vehicle was pushed to auction for mechanical and safety issues.

I bought one this weekend. 06LC w/190K I just happen to catch on a back lot. Took the keys off driver leaving for auction with it, and locked it back up. Walk in with salesman to FM and made a cash offer. I walked on a second FM and they called me back.

Due to mileage and some DTC indicating ABS it was to be wholesaled. They see $2k of maybe work and they'll flinch. ABS DTC may have been a voltage issue as it not returned yet.

Turns out PO sold because was informed 2K to $5K fix brakes.
Seems this LC is one that was really well serviced by a very good Toyota Dealership shop local to me where I buy parts. I've spent 8 hours pour over the history. I see over $20K in service from 50K to 194K, and still counting and studying what was done. Only think I saw I didn't like was reman FT DR shaft, but they seem all good. I like new OEM, buy hey! L,O&F plus AIR done by the book or early. All fluid flush regular, more than I've seen done by any Dealership. Used BG products almost always to flush and condition. Plus lots of good parts.

I'm happy.

Make no difference who is selling or who PO is or what they say. Inspect, inspect, inspect.

Sounds like another good find; looking forward to reading another one of your detailed threads on bringing this 2006 back to spec.
