for public or military sales?

oooh, Clint, you are getting close ...
what is the last year the removable hard top pickup was made by Toyota?

I knew that I had seen military pickups, with the new front shape, without tops.

But looking at the photo again, and the chopped A-pillar, probably not factory...

Would the fold down windscreen have gone up to 1999 in the HZJ75 cab chassis/pickup, when they then changed to the HZJ79 cab/chassis/pickup with the solid top in August 1999?

The fold down is still in production. The removable top might be gone....

There are just so many variations still being made at Yoshiwara much of it depending on customer/market/destination.

I wonder if there is a roof and back top half of the cab that will bolt on and off like 75 series cab for the longer cabed 79 series,
would the doors be the same as the factory rag top cruisers and half bolt holes for the top half o the window frame.

Crushers when do we get the answer to our cruiser trivia question? :D

:bounce2: still today they are made factory. :bounce:
:steer:now THAT makes me interested in a 79 series.:steer:

With a little looking at the top pic I spy a little black gromit near the rhs door look pop that out and could be the screw hole for top window frame ,
in the lower pick it has exhuast on lhs Can see it between cab and tray same as the vdj79s ,but no hole in bonnet so we would say this is a grj79?

Any more info on these rigs who there for or why there made

I am going to say today. A few months ago I saw a bunch of 79s heading to ENS to be modified they were coming off of a Car carrier Landed at Richmond.

Hello,

It could be an HZJ79. HZJ7x's lack the hole in the bonnet as well.

My guess on fold-down windscreens: are they intended for mine and military users only?

Juan

not for mine use or ENS would be all over them, the mine has to cut the tops and discard vs just unbolting and removing.

i will be watching for the military throw aways...

Hello,

Military users it is then.

I have also heard stories of soft top short wheelbase units. It must be a very specific market (like the military) for which they are intended.

Lucky guys, are they not?

Juan

yep, a buddy of mine has his eye on a brand new shorty ragtop gasser. that thing would HAUL ass ... i would be up for a ride in it.

I was only thinking that due to 1hz having exhaust manifold on rhs of vehicle , 3f and 2h have exhuasts running under cab on lhs
