2006 100 series equipped with ICON 2.5 inch remote res with CDC valve shocks. It’s time for a rebuild.

Have been looking for a used set of shocks to temporarily install while the ICONs are being rebuilt. Unfortunately, have not located and think it’s time to figure something out to get the 100 ready for summer.

My 100 is pretty heavy, front (TJM) and rear (Slee dual swing-out) bumpers, sliders, Front Runner roof rack, and wooden drawer system. Running OME heavy torsion bars and 864 springs. Has a little lift to it, maybe 2 inches.

Wondering if OEM shocks will work in a temporary capacity so I can remove the ICONs and get them shipped off for rebuild? In the absence of finding a set of used OME or Iron Man, the OEM seem the most reasonable route to go.

I can minimize use of the 100 but will need to move it around and possibly occasional driving.

Thoughts?

They might not be optimal considering your weight but they’re cheap and they’ll get the job done.

Appreciate it. Yeah, it’ll be temporary. I’ll be calling ICON to see what the turn around time is. If it’s really long, I may just get OME heavy valved shocks and run them awhile. Just was trying to minimize cost, if at all possible.
