temperature control switch

1995 FZJ80: anyone know how to diagnos the temperature selection switch? I can manually make it go from hot to cold under the hood, but the interior control will not actuate the control lever.

It's an electronic system. You've got either a busted switch, connection, or valve control motor.

You may also want to check the valve to see if it is stuck. Remove the cable and try to move it by hand.

thanks guys. so far: valve works, I have it zip tied closed because its 110 in Tucson (no feakin need for heat for awhile!!) the motor that moved the mechanical part worked, then didn't. I took the radio out a few months ago, saw that the motor worked, put the radio back in and it still worked until yesterday. i get in my truck, started the truck then turned on the AC, as it started to get cold it suddenly went hot. Looked under the hood and the valve was open. I think it moved on its own. Now it doesn't work at all. anyone know how to diagnos the switch itself? i hate wierd intermitten problems!

did you ever figure this out??
its a real PITA to have to pop the hood and move that valve on the fire wall every time i need to change the temp.

my switch is working, but its like it does not have the power necessary to actuate fully.
