We will be leaving from Birmingham,al on March 22-30. If anyone is interested
Thanks

May need to wait for early summer. Or not. Need to get a good idea what I'm getting my self into.

At least during my spring break people like to be hitting the slopes, not so sure if that's a great time for wheeling. Early summer sounds like a better plan to me, and if it's over the summer I may be able to join!

Well then sounds like a early summer trip then to CO. I have either go before my son starts baseball or after the season is over. But will plan on staying total of 9 days. But that's there and back. At least that gives me a lil more time to get these things done.

Early summer won't do you any good either. Think mid-late July at the earliest. Many trails in the San Juan's are over 11k feet. There is a chance they won't be passable until late July.

I suggest joining us for the 4th Annual 100s in the Hills Event in August 2014. There is no better way to experience all the trails and the area.

I just did the Bham to CO stretch for the 100s trip. Join the facebook group posted above and check out the thread for the trip report from the August trip.

Thanks for the info guys. Been doin a lot of reading and hoping that I can make it to the annual trip in August and if anyone from the Bham area would like to join. That would be awesome. Planning on getting up with the guys around Bham if they will have me and joining them for a few rides.
Thanks again

Moab is great that time of year.

That would be better this time of year

Camping and any wheeling would be dangerous near telluride. Many Passes and trails don't even open till July due to snow fall. That is why you see a lot of events in July-Sept timeframe for Telluride Ouray

Whatever you do, make sure you don't go wheeling alone. It is easy to get stuck even on a simple trail when you lose sight of the line and always helpful to have someone pull you out.

I'm actually planning on a trip similar to this one. However i may try to do cruise moab or 100s in the hills instead so that I can wheel with people familiar with the area. I would be leaving from Huntsville, Al so not too far from you.

Well got one of my task done today replaced the starter. I swear I could shoot the person who thought that was a good place for the starter. Haha. Anyways got it done and btw. WDE

This is going to be my best bet as well and my main thing to plan for. I was also wanting to attend the FJ Summit but this will be my main goal next year.:)

I hoping if all goes well I can make the august trip But with kids and wife we will just have to see. But fingers crossed we can make it. Got a buddy planning on goin with me who has a 100 LC armored and winch. I just hopin to have new tires and a lift so may need someone with all the gadgets to help me out. ( just talking bout the winch. I will have any necessary supplies for the trip)

We had totally stock 100's attend this event last year and have a great time. There will be many trails/runs to choose from with descriptions of each so you can match your vehicle and personal comfort level each day.

I was just in the area a few weeks ago with my then-stock-suspension '99. Had no problems navigating some of the trails in the area. You can have lots of fun with a stock 100.

I had plus-sized BFG ATs, but the stock suspension. You'll probably need some decent tires, but other than that I wouldn't hesitate one bit to take stock hundy out there and plan on having lots of fun!
