When you cut sheetmetal, say to open up a wheel well or something like that, how do you finish the edge of the metal to keep it from being a sharp edge? I dont want to be cutting my self on my truck.
 
For the pinch, I would grind it flat. For the outer fender, I would grind it so it wasn't sharp and put some door trim on it, but use goop automotive glue and not the cheap stuff that the trim comes with.
 
Mkay, I didnt know if there was a tool to roll the edge, I overthink things I guess. Door edge trim would definately be faster/easier.
 
and if it doesn't work out for you, then you can go to something more complicated.

Get some 3/8" polyflow and cut it down the middle, I'm sure you can find some of that. If not I can get you some.;)
 
Trying to get the silver truck fixed, here is what is going on. Very very very hard to start but once I get it running it will idle and drive shift through all rpm ranges fine. Finally got it started today it had been over a month since last time I started it.Idled it up to 2,000 rpm to get the battery recharged. Ran it at 2,000 for a few minutes and the header was glowing red! Idled it back down and the header went back to normal. Any idea what is wrong? Seemed to be running rich at first but I was cranking on it far a long long time.. :meh:

it B running lean timing ? fuel psi / cat blocked/ restricted exhaust/old fuel/air intake leak. L.O.U------ lack of use:eek:
 
Yeah, would have to be lean with heat like that. I would check all of Mr. Paul's suggestions.

Maybe AFM is going bad and not given the computer enough signal to dump more fuel. This could also be contributed to a small leak in the air intake as already stated. I have had that happen twice and it can cause it to lean out a lot because any air added after the AFM is not account for when the computer decides air/fuel ratio.

Sound like it was running good or did you hear spark knock? I might have a spare AFM you can borrow. When is the last time valves were checked?

Is it gutless once you get it going? I had a truck once you had to put your hand over the carb (I know your injected) to build extra vacuum to get it to crank. could it possibly have a vacuum leak somewhere leaning it out making it hard to start?

A cat blocked/ restricted exhaust was my first thoughts. I had a similar issue with my 86 EFI Turbo but the cat was glowing red and making a rattling noise took it down and the comb was broken so I knocked all of the comb out and bolted it back up and problem was solved. Exhaust was backing up into the engine and would bog it down and had no power.
 
When I pulled my cat off, the comb was melted. I never had any issues with it but that was probably because it has a hole straight through the middle where it melted down. A long chisel and a hammer made it to where I wouldn't have to worry about that anymore.
 
Any tips or tricks for getting dirt out of your beads? Never happened to me before but it did at barnwell with 3 tires even though I ran high psi compared to what I usually do. One fixed itself but 2 are still leaking fast around the bead. I think maybe I will drop them down to 0 and try to compress them down and spray some cleaner in there and try to wash them.

Maybe someone knows a trick????
 
Go to the tire shop or have someone drive over them with there truck. Thats what i had to do in the field.
 
I have that hilift jack that can break down tires but I don't want to break it down if I don't have to and who's to say that it won't happen again. 3 out of 4 tires is ridiculous when it has never been an issue before. It was my first time out with these tires but they are the exact same as what you are running Mike.
 
I did all four that way to put new val..stems. All good
 
How much psi were you runing on the trail? I put 20psi on the trail.
 
I was running about 14-15, I usually run 10-12 but I completely deflated the tires and put too much back in when I aired up. At 14-15 psi you could barely tell I aired down.

Personally I don't think you are going to get the beads to seal well without breading the bead and cleaning the surface. I am surprised dirt got I'm there running that much pressure.
