I'd go but I have been procrastinating on the 4runner, the dodge giving me so much trouble has slowed down (aka totaly prevented and thats my only excuse) getting the work done on the 4runner to get ready for the lonestar roundup.

Maybe he'll have that new diesel truck then I just saw him downstairs getting a 100K in cash

Paul when you get a chance can you give the book value for replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets on 02 Sequoia with 4.7 4WD if you get a chance. I think Musson pulled something out the @ss because they don't care to do it.

hahaha just like they tryed srewing me on changing a cv boot on the taco 765 bucks , then i brought it to master mec and they did it in 3 hrs and chaged me 375 with the boots!

Josh I was looking for a toy online (gremlin) for my son and came across this La Place Louisiana Lemon Laws Firms during a search. I remembered your truck problem and thought this may help you. I hope you don't need it and your truck is running great..........but just in case. Scroll down and you can see what the law states. Good luck deciphering all of the "legal jargon".

It has been running like a top the last two hitches since they found their goof from the first problem. Thanks though :D

Its a 97 and guy has not returned any of my messages looks good though for the price.

ohh thers a like 03 4runner on lasports man for 1000 for parts the thing was rolled but moter tann axels are good !

In yalls own opinion

do ya'll think that a soa swap would be better than a suspension lift if the suspension lift would give you same height as soa and also do yall have some good build threads besides armands ( i think thats the one on the home page) because i tried to find some last night and i came up empty handed FJ 40 to be specific.

All a susp lift does is give you clearance for more articulation & larger tire diameter with a ground clearance of half the additional tire diameter.
where as SOA gives you that plus a whole lot less chitt under the axle to get hung up on.:)

am sure Larry has the links in his files to SOA threads

I'm not a cruiser guy, but I agree here. SOA would give you less mass under axle that could get hung up on things. The only real advantage of changing the springs and keeping spring under might be that the new springs off more articulation, but for that type of spring you may be looking at doing frame work because flexy springs are usually longer and hangers/shackles need to be moved accordingly.

What is involved with this? Would he just need to cut the perches and weld new ones on top of the axle?

How high are we talking? I would never do a SOA if I was only looking for 4-5 inches of lift.

Sure I'll be happy to help with some build threads I'm swamped here at work but will post them here for you.

Regarding the SOA the most important things are to 1.) get the correct measurement to allow your suspenion to travel without busting the tranfer case. Your moving the shackle that is designed to travel forward at the front of the frame and after your SOA the axle will be traveling rearward pushing your drivshaft towards the transfer case. I've seen a few busted tranfercases because of a bad shackle reversal or SAS job. 2.) Is the placement of your perches on the axle so you get the correct drveshaft angle. A cut & turn on the knuckles is the right way to go but there are many that made it work without doing it.

In my thinking if I plan to do as much road driving as I do off road driving l leave it SUA (both the 67 and 78 have 4 inch lifts & 33's). I will do a SOA on the 74 trail truck that won't be St legal.

also i know i had discussed this before but i wanted some personal opinions, i want to run my 35 bfg's, i just thought that having it over would make everything better, would steering be a problem? another added note most likely not an everyday driver but maybe trail and street would equal out and as far as comfort if i get tired of the jeering ill getin the 07 lol
