Is the solenoid on the LC's attachedd or external? If it's external, you should be able to turn the key on and jump the solenoid with a screwdriver. Can you push start it?

All the LC's are on the starter.

Turn the key on do not start it push the button turn key off then back on then off see if it starts up . I did that once it work for me .

Put it in Park if it's an auto :D I have no useful information just to post up :D

NAW! me thinks it to hang ya clothes out to dry:grinpimp:

I would think it would be so that small branches and what not would ride up the cables instead of just hitting the windshield.

Your almost right, so branches will not get suck to the rack on top.

I crossed a thread a while back that talked about the airsoft pellets to balance out the tires. The new coopers didn't feel well balanced since I got them mounted but with fighting all my other issues I didn't take it back to fix it. I think I'm going to pick some up and try it. Has anyone tried it?

I am seriously thinking about trying it when I mouth the Stauns... there is about a pound of lead on each of my rims and I still get a little shake from 35-45. clears up though. So what, about 1 jug of airsoft per tire should do it eh? :D

Any engineers out there want to explain why this works. I know why but I uhh.....don't have the time to explain all of the math and stuff so....please.....enlighten THEM!

Pretty please?

Oh god>.< let me see. From what I understand the reason tires dont balance is because parts of the carcass are thinner than others, the thin parts are lighter... AWW hell I am not going to try and figure it out... GOOGLE TO THE RESCUE!!!!

How It Works

Why it works

Gots some purty pictures too :B

P.S. what I was thinking was right, but for the wrong reasons.

They also have a chart that guestimates how much weight you would have to add. says I would need aprox 10 oz per tire on a 36 12.50 15... seems low but like they say, the weight is all the way out at the tread rather than 10 inches from it. so maybe 10 oz could asctually do the same work as 2-3 pounds of lead.

Today on the highway my check engine light came on and shortly there after the cruise control stopped working properly. A search in the 100 forum showed that another guy had the same issue and the code reader at Autozone said vehicle speed sensor.

Thoughts? Is there a way for me to check the codes like I could with the paper clip on the 62 or just bring to Autozone/Toyota shop for sure?

EDIT: Vehicle is tip top otherwise as far as I know.

I can scan it for you Marty I keep my scan tool in the 80. I think its a safety funtion because when mine tripped the light my cruise didn't work either it may depend on the code.

Does that scan tool work on taco ? Because my cruise does not work .

It'll scan all OBII vehicles though if there is no engine light its not a hard fault and no code will be there.

What was your code telling you?

P0420

The catalytic converter has an oxygen sensor in front and behind it. When the vehicle is warm and running in closed loop mode, the upstream oxygen sensor waveform reading should fluctuate. The downstream O2 sensor reading should be fairly steady. Typically the P0420 code triggers the Check Engine if the readings of the two sensors are similar. This is indicative of (among other things) a converter that is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions system.

I've replaced both O2 sensors, converters and it'll run great on the highway but as soon as I get into stop and go traffic around town the light comes back. Still runs fine so I keep the scan tool to check it every so often or clear when I go on a highway drive. My manifold is leaking now so I think thats still causing it to trip the light but I'm waiting to tackle it with a couple other things like the leaking vavle cover, high idle start up issue and I'll put some new plugs and wires while its all down. Its just going to take up a weekend to tear it down and clean it up and I've not had a weekend to spare yet :frown:

Thanks Larry.

Now school me on the tool that checks the code. While I had the 62, I got into a habit of always checking the gauges and had to break myself of that when I got the 100. With these aging vehicles, I guess this might be a good tool to carry along.

With the 100 its a OBII vehicle which means you have a ton of sensors measuring and looking at everything. If you keep and eye on your gauges and make sure they are reporting correctly you won't need to keep such a close eye on it as with the 62. You do have sensors that report to your gauges temp, oil and etc so its good to keep an eye out to make sure they are not acting up and if so replace them. I use to use Autozone to pull in and check my codes when I needed but the tool they use came down in price to $89 normally $120 so I picked one up. Its nice to have in the tool box and quickly access when needed. :)

MOST F THE TIME O2`S WON`T clear PO420

they prob would not hurt to change due to age& millage but most times takes an OEM CAT. then a drive cycle to make the computer happy $$$$$$$
if it is running ok & fuel consumption isn`t down let it be:steer::steer::steer:

Silver truck was not running to good over the weekend . It was running with a miss in the engine, like an electrical miss. So I started pulling spark plugs 1,2,3 looked good in color. Pulled #4 and it was wet but did not smell like fuel :meh: . Disconnected the coil and turned the engine over and was introduced to a antifreeze/water bath from the sparkplug hole.

Is this a bad thing ?
