Well I finally got a new set of shoes for my gal.

BFG MT KM2 35x12.5x17

So far so good, very nice ride with minimal noise even at 70 on the freeway. They are way quiter than my worn out Toyo MT's.

I did the same balancing act as with the toyos 1 bottle of plastic airsoft pellets per tire seems to do the trick:)

Heres some pics for a visual. I will post an offroad report when possible.

Looks good!

That's interesting that you used airsoft pellets. Is that in addition to regular clamp on lead weights?

NO lead, just plastic pellets the bigger the tire the more pellets.

Might not work for all tires but I have had good luck with 2 sets now:cheers:

Just for the record the toyos that were dismounted showed no signs of wear in the tire and likewise for the pellets that were in there for about 1 year.

Good looking tire keep us posted how they do in the dirt/mud

Why didn't you just use the appropriate dyna beads for balance? You can order them direct and they have a whole listing of how much you should need based on tire brand and type. I've been very happy with them in my Iroks.

Bear, I was going to use dynabeads last yr when I mounted my Toyo's.

I then did some more research and found out that the airsoft pellets work just as well.

I am a major fan of alternatives and saving $$$. I also try and buy whatever I need locally before ordering out. IH8SHIPPING!

You can buy them for $4 a bottle at any store with a big "W" on it so I couldnt see spending exrta $ and waiting for delivery.

Thanks Deo, I cant wait to wheel in Oct should be alot of fun and not so hot

Good to see- these are my next tires.

motoloco, I am not currently running any spacers, not a big fan :meh: but Im sure Im gonna have to make some more room one way or another...

I already have minor rubbage in the inner upper wheel wells at full stuff with my 295's.

I will look more into it when I go wheeling next month and see what things look like under full flex. I may start by upgrading to a J spring in the rear.

I should mention though I have no sways and havent made any adjustment to my bumpstops...

So.. they balanced out well with no weights and a few hundred of these pellets in each tire? I might try this.

Yes no lead, I recommend 1 bottle for each tire... apprx. 2000 pellets per tire will equal about 8oz of weight.

Have these tires been out long enough for someone to run during the winter? I like the looks, however I need good snow tires as well. My Toyo M/T's (on my 72 Blazer) did not do that great in the snow.

nice!

i am so confused what is with the pellets. I just got 35" km2s and i do think they are lots louder than 33" all terrains in medium shape...

as for the rubbing. i have a 4" slee'd lift and no rubbing and i tried to get it to rub...

as for the traction difference of the allterrains and km2s no comparison.

i just hope i get used to the freeway noise..i am planning on a trip to canada from so-cal and there will be lots of highway driving.....

Nice set up! Any other mods to get the FJ Cruiser steelies to fit well?? I've been contemplating a set of 17" rims, and wondered what is the total lift you have? 2.5"? Spacers @ all?

Me Likey!

P.S - where did you find the best $$ for the KM2's?

John
