I posted a nice 2000 4-Runner I saw on the LA4x4 board. You sell that Tot-Hoe yet?
no i didnt but havent tried real hard. i would much rather a 1st gen runner.
O.K. got the brakes bleed and working on the 85. I am having NO luck bleeding the clutch. Start from the top new clutch cylinder, new slave cylinder. Pulled the bleed screw from the slave cylinder filled the reservoir full and tried to gravity bleed the system. nope no fluid coming after a few hours . Tried to prime and bleed the system by pumping the clutch and holding and cracking the bleed screw at the slave cylinder. No air or fluid seems to come out the slave cylinder.WHAT am I doing wrong?
... Note to self brake fluid burns in cuts on hands.. I like my auto
Are you air locked before the plunger? Is your plunger shot on your slave cylinder and not able to create a suction? IE...cylinder walls are pitted and your plunger has worn down. If you have an air bubble or 2 or 3 in the tubing down to the slave it may not allow the fluid to gravity feed down through the slave cylinder and out the bleeder. Maybe disconnect the discharge line of the master cylinder that leads to the clutch and disconnect the input line on the slave cylinder and blow though the line to see if there is an obstruction. I am pretty sure you have probably tried all of these things....

Thanks for the input. New rubber flex hose going to slave cylinder but i did not try blowing air through the metal line that is between the master and slave cylinder on the fire wall when I changed it.You might be on to something there.

have someone depress pedal most of the way down NOT TO THE FLOOR .
hold finger over line port on master--
release or pull back pedal--
repeat this action several times --
if still no fluid at port ya have an NFG master
if now fluid is coming out of port keep reservoir FULL remove bleeder at slave do finger over hole push pedal again- and again till air less fluid re install bleeder crack bleed slave.
let set for about an hour or a couple
then lightly depress pedal and release a few times any small air the has traveled up the line will exhaust into the master reservior PS you be master push pedal let slave do bleeding that keeps hand out of harms way no fluid in cuts

Disconnected the metal line and blew compressed air through it till it was coming out the other end. That is where the problem was that line was plugged. Then used a syringe(left over from Thanksgiving used on the Turkey) with a rubber hose attached to the metal line by the master cylinder and filled full of fluid till it was pouring out the other end of the line by the slave cylinder. Then connected to slave cylinder to the line and removed bleed screw and primmed slave cylinder and reinstalled bleed screw.
Did the two man job of primming the master cylinder and reconnected metal line and bleed the entire system. Work great got a good petal and decided to bleed just one more time and lost everything..... Ran out of brake fluid

3/16 will work as long as you use metric line nuts if the line lock is US then use us to fit lock

So I'm at work, daydreaming....I know my suspension needs something changed. I still don't know if it is shocks, springs, or both. I know i can't push the front end down unless I get all 250lbs of me up on the bumper and jump.
I'm thinking about removing a leaf...I read up on it and I guess all I need are some C-clamps so i don't kill myself, and a prybar to get the metal band that keeps them lined up off. Does this sound about right?
Anyone ever done this? Any reccommendations?
edit. The 350 is lighter than the 2F, and the springs were for a FJ40, so I'm pretty sure they are stiffer than they need to be.

This is what I put on there when we rebuilt it. Black Diamond 3" FJ40 Lift Kit (64-82)
3" Black Diamond lift. If you want to take a leaf out you'll need two spring clamps unless the springs have the clamps with the bolt where you can unbolt take out a leaf and rebolt them. Also the center spring pack bolt for each spring unless you can reuse the one on there. In my expereince they broke when I unbolted them.
That was the lift I had for a very short time on my 70 until it almost bounced me right out of the cruiser on I10. It was new and I thought it would relax eventually but I sold it to him and put a 4" OME lift in its place. Twice the cost but twice as comfortable too.
