Checking to see if there was any interest in tech day at the shop. We finally got the long term projects that have been blocking the bays out. Thought I'd offer up a tech day since we have space again.

I've got a scope, amp clamps, and a thermal cameraId love if someone with knowledge could find my battery drain... if I don't drive it every 4 or 7 days the battery is dead. I keep a a solar charger in the window to combat the issue and it seems to be working but its annoying
Oh man...several of us know that hole well...had a few winch outs on a New Years' Day run....someone must have dumped some rocks in there since then as ours only got stuck due to traction issues. @JakeisbadatThis hit that one at about 50 mph...(not really, but it seemed like it!) and skipped right across...I plowed through it churning the Falken Mud Terrains hard in the 80, others, not so much!Things got a little out of hand in this mud hole in Wolf Den Run state park in MD over memorial day weekend and it looks like i bent my steering knuckle after I hit an underwater rock at a high rate of speed, exploding my tire on impact and launching the truck into the air to the great amusement of onlookers (I have earned, and re-earned, the nickname/call sign "hammer time"over the years). New knuckle and tie rod end now enroute. Would love to knock the project out in a real shop instead of in front of the "no vehicle repairs" sign on my residential street.

It's been a while since we all gathered at the OTRAMM shop! I will add this topic to the agenda for the June 3 club meeting. Do you have a preference for the date? On a Saturday or Sunday? Can you add a couple of options so we can pin something to the club calendar?Checking to see if there was any interest in tech day at the shop. Saturdays are generally easier. The only weekend I'm not available is June 14th.It's been a while since we all gathered at the OTRAMM shop! Can't imagine whyThat would be a hell to the no.![]()
I am pretty sure that hole has done something to my truck as well on that new years day trip. There is a noise that 2 separate mechanics can not diagnose now... and I am fairly certain whatever I damaged, was done following the sage advice "when in doubt, throttle out" while traversing that exact spot.Oh man...several of us know that hole well...had a few winch outs on a New Years' Day run....someone must have dumped some rocks in there since then as ours only got stuck due to traction issues. @JakeisbadatThis hit that one at about 50 mph...(not really, but it seemed like it!) and skipped right across...I plowed through it churning the Falken Mud Terrains hard in the 80, others, not so much!
For the tech day, sounds great...a bit too far for me to get there when I don't really need the shop space for a project though. @Diplodocus I'm pretty set on tools at my house (Annapolis) if you need access for a day project. I've never owned a 100 series, but happy to lend a hand if you know what you are getting into.
Let's start with what is the volume of your radio? Try keeping it around 30 or higher, should solve the issueI am pretty sure that hole has done something to my truck as well on that new years day trip. While I cannot do any work on my truck due to physical limitations... if folks were interested at looking at my truck, I would buy the beer... and even a very nice bottle of their preferred liquor if they could fix the issue.
