I don't have the power folding rear seats, so instead of running wire from my battery I had another thought. I'm looking to install a few switched KC Cyclone lights in the rear cargo area of my 2020 GX as that is where all the cooking is done while camping. My GX came with the tow package and have never used my 7-Pin. I was going to tap into the 12v constant and run it up into the cargo area to a small switch panel that will power a few KC cyclones that draw .5 each. Anyone see an issue with this idea?

You can also swap out the rear headliner interior light for a bright LED.

I'd suggest using a fuse tap from the interior fusebox and running a dedicated wire back to your cargo area. You can then pick an always-on or ignition-on circuit for your lights. That would be preferable to splicing into your trailer harness as you'd completely avoid any cutting of the factory harness and would keep all of the wiring inside of the vehicle. You may have to pull up the door sill trim to do this, but that should be pretty easy and make the wire easy to hide as well.

Having a dedicated wire back there, you can also splice in a USB charger for devices and run it off the same new circuit as your aux interior lights.
