I have had an 80 Series "Sport Option" model kit for a while and decided to put it together this weekend. My goal is to make it look as much like my real one as I can.

This kit was a lot of fun to put together. The suspension is very detailed and it included upgraded springs and spring spacers for the rear. I think Tamiya just added the Sport Package parts to one of their existing 80 kits. Slee needs to make a panhard adjusting kit for these models because my axles are out of center from the lift :grinpimp:.

I still have to do some finishing touches like silver side stripe, make a rear bumper and a snorkel.

Thank you.
Nice work!

I got one for CDan last year when I was in Europe.

They are really detailed and cool indeed.

MOT found this one for me.
They pop up on ebay occasionally and even on here rarely.

I picked mine up on everyone's favorite auction site a few years ago.

I modified the kit supplied ARB bumper to mimic the Slee Short-Bus bumper. I also made my own rear bumper, and MetalTech style sliders. In addition I fabbed up a few detail items: a C02 tank and high lift jack. The snorkel is totally custom too based on pictures using strips of styrene plastic and modelers putty. A little heat was applied to get it to match the a pillar contour. It has been "in progress" off and on for a couple years, and still not complete. I painted using the Duplicolor touch up paint correct Toyota Emerald Green before I bought my 1st 80, which was Charcoal Grey, and my 2nd 80 is Black, so it doesn't match what I actually own. Anyway here are a couple pics:
