taking the sneakers off of split rims

Anybody know how to take tires off of split rims??? I have 14 of them and don't feel like spending $20 each top have the tires taken off. They are 16" splitties off of Aussie 40's.

I'd give someone a case of wine to help me for a couple hours....

did splits for a while while at a Goodyear shop. First thing you need is a tire mall, the second thing you need is four more cases of wine.

A tire mall is a sledge hammer type device with a flat blade on it. You stand over the wheel and swing it like you are splitting wood and aim to get that blade between the tire bead and the rim so as to drive off the tire. Then you can pry off the ring, flip the tire over and drive off the other side.

When I was doing them often I could strip down a rim in about 20 minutes. 30 years later and 14 tires to do, I'd need an oxygen tank and a set of paddles by my side to get through half of them.

The wine was a joke, this sort of brute strength requires a beer drinking animal sans IQ.

don't sell all your sits yet. well do sell them so I won't be tempted again. I seem tohave bought the pefect split rim tire trxus 255/85 r16' but my local tire shops can't seem to get the beads which are really close together (about 5"s) to air pop onto the 16x8 rims. one place did let ione sit for 2 days with a tube in the tire btring to widen the beeds and they were able to do it. but when I brought back another to do they said no wtf. I did get recommended to another tire place and they suggested I get some tubes and I could either run the tires with tubes or try the widen the beed trick with the tubs. I am following the tubes via UPS tracking and they should arrive monday.
anyway these tires look hot nice tall skinny look splits would be the way to go with them though and would really make someones stockish wheeler look sweet. (plug for john's splits)

I don't think its a mall cruiser I think garage cruiser is a more acurate discription not quite the garage cruiser wildmans is,cause it actually leaves the garage, but I do spend most of my time workin on the lv then driving it.

todays project finally assembling all the double swing arms and rear tire carrier jerry can combo. still not all done still need to mount the hilift on the jerry can swing out but I got the license plate light all wired in so its all legel.I spent the last week and a day, mostly nights but god knows how many hours or how many times I had to catch myself from falling asleep at my desk at work but I am happy with it.

as I mentioned before I only have one of my new tires mounted and that is the current spare. but I like the size .

Hey now! My crusier had left the garage! (last year in pieces on a trailer) When I moved shops! Jason is right I have been way to busy bending big heavy hahhd chore paahts..

Guy that lives near me will pull them off your rims for $5 each, and charge $4 or $5 to dispose of the tires. Problem is that it is about 40 min south of your wine store in New Braintree, MA.
Another idea is to take them to your local junk yard. They will take them off the rims cheap.

I tried that once. Not fun. You have to break the bead then cut the bead which has a cable in it. Tried it with a sawsall and it didn't go over well.
