OK... Just for fun...

After it came up in another thread, and checking what I had in my left-side tail-gate storage, I was kind of amazed how much stuff was in there...

Can you top this? ;) Bring it!
Or... Just curious what y'all use in that space... ??

Here's the list...with photos...

In that wee, itty-bitty space I stash:

-Tiny ratchet set with all the sizes I need (nut bits, screw heads, alan, star, security bits)
-Telescoping magnetic screw grabber for when I drop a screw into the engine bay
-Waterproof notepad and pen (If hiking from a dead truck, leave a rain-proof note)
-Spline adapter (RW wheels)
-Extra lug nut for when the shop drooler leaves a nut too loose (happened to me)
-Two spinning emergency light pucks (more in the jack storage)
-BP-51 adjustment wrenches (compression/rebound)
-Water Tablets (You can survive for weeks with just good water)
-LifeStraw (Tablets require a container to purify. This doesn't)
-Magnetic LED Flood light (ha! I have like 6 flashlights of various types in the vehicle)
-Another Floodlight/Flashlight
-ANOTHER larger LED Floodlight
-3 Marine/Water Flares (the shoot-into-the-sky type)
-Benchmade Knife Maint. tool (lots of tiny wrenches/screwheads)

Partially unpacked...

PS. Before you laugh at that little ratchet set... I do have a full set in the back too, but that tiny one comes in super handy for small, quick stuff. Costco had those a while back...

Very cool. I have basically the EXACT same things in a backpack in my Tacoma. Now to the 200!

You earned 20+hp points. Nice work

@Markuson Great storage setup. I especially like the roadside flare pucks you have.

I know there was someone on the forum that used this location for their firearm. They had laser cut foam inserts to have 100% fit.

Either way, this is an awesome spot to store small things you don't want to go missing.

I keep a spare serpentine belt in my tailgate.

I have a belt crammed down the body "hole" down/left from the jack storage where smaller items tend to disappear forever...

you shouldn't have any body holes that you fit belts and jacks in and never find them....i'd get the looked at pronto

This fits. ;) With this, I pretty much can get anything needed...

An inspirational thread for certain... ;)

I just backed the Cruiser into the garage and I'm going through my collection of small parts and surplus pouches to see what's gonna' fit best.

I'm thinking if I need a firearm, it's normally right-damn-now...Samuel Colt continues to ride near me in the front. An FAL PARA is across the floor in front of the middle seats.

I thought I could top yours Markusson, but it won't fit! I purchased this first aid kit as this thread inspired me to fill the cubby hole. Need it for a long road trip this summer as well.

Stop making me wanna move to Texas! ;)
I was joking about the KelTec fitting of course. Someone else started the exact thread a few years back and there are ideas there. I have a collapsible military shovel, axe with knife in stock, flares, led flasher, gloves- and thanks to this thread I added a fire starter and Life-Straw.

Heh... Yup. I have a serious blade under my seat and a similar kit behind the second row sorta jammed under. I'm a Kabar fan for fixed blades, but that's a nice Gerber. All of this changes once I have my drawers again...but I still like having a few go-to items that can never be misplaced, or buried under other gear.

Oh I know... It's just that I live in California, and three of my guns are now illegal to buy/sell. Grandfathered in...but sheesh. The State Attorney is trying to force background checks just to buy AMMO. Sheeeeeeesh... Ready to move.

so here is a question. Does anyone know of a place that makes the storage compartment covers out of plastic, or something other that carpet? My girlfriend made some covers for them from my old Carhartts that work really good, but look a little cheesy. I'll try and remember to post a picture.

;) OK BTUMAN... Since we're officially in nutty-mode...I'll see your KelTec and raise ya these... And...they fit! ;)
:worms::hillbilly::grinpimp: And no, I don't actually keep any of these in my tailgate...!
