Hey everyone,

I have a 1997 Land Cruiser. It is completely stock right now, besides the bullbar in the front.

I don't have any complaints about it, except that it has always sounded like a garbage truck :frown: It sounds as if there's holes in random spots throughout the exhaust pipes, and noise comes from anywhere underneath the car. I guess air escapes from where o2 sensors are, and maybe there really are a few holes that I've never noticed....

I'm here to ask you guys about exhaust options for the truck. I've always dreamed of getting something that will sound deep, with a slightly larger tailpipe (that doesn't look ugly). Any ideas? Does anyone make custom exhausts for my specific Land Cruiser that fits easily?

Also, the driver's side tail light has a crack in it, so I need a new one. Anyone selling? If not, any suggestions on some after-market tail lights? I think Euro tail lights or clear ones might look ugly because the truck is white.

My running board on the driver's side is sagging a little bit, so I'd like to replace those too.... Maybe replacing them with tube steps will look a bit cooler. Any suggestions on those too?

Thanks a lot for all the help! Any suggestions or information will be greatly appreciated.

Borla used to make a custom exhaust for our 80-Series. Most good muffler shops will custom build whatever you want. While they are building yours have them turn the cats if you plan to off-road your truck.

Slee sells step sliders that will replace your running boards. There are several good vendors for tube sliders; Slee, Metal-Tech, Hanna, and several others that you can find by looking through the Vendor section. Some are partial DIY. If you weld then there are a couple of options for building your own.

The "crystal clear" taillights look really good on the white trucks. Mot can get those for you. Cruiserdan can get you the OEM replacement.

Pitch the brush bar/damage multiplier in the trash. The 80-Series FAQ section here is a great place to start.
