My 11,000-lb T-Max winch wouldn't work AGAIN, and THIS time I can hear the solenoids inside the box clicking when I activate the wireless remote. Power is going IN to the box from the battery lead, FWD/REV switches on the remote produce "clicking" inside the box, but no power is coming out to the winch (checked at the ends of the FWD/REV power leads at the winch motor).

Could this merely be that the winch motor is not grounded correctly? Trying to think this through: I grounded my circuit light to the batt (-), then checked power in to the solenoid box: YES. Then checked power out to the winch motor @ both posts (FWD/REV) when I hit the remote, NOTHING. Since my light was grounded to the battery, if power was flowing out of the solenoid box, my light should've lit, right?

Pissed off at this winch. I only have a wireless remote which I hate, the cord remote plug-end does not fit the plug in the solenoid box.

few winch motors require specific ground and if that the case usually they have a bolt for that I've seen few lower side of the motor .. ( opposite from A port ) if that's not the case your winch motor would take ground from the carcass ..

It could be a number of problems. Just because the solenoids click doesn't mean the contacts are good.

First test the motor: connect one F terminal on the motor to the A terminal and then connect the battery + to the other F terminal and the - to the ground. The motor should run if it is good. Reverse the F terminal connections and the motor should run the opposite direction.

If the motor runs, then chances are the solenoid contacts are bad.

The test light is not very useful in this situation because you really want to know how many amps are flowing; not the voltage.
There will be a big voltage drop across the motor windings when it is running.

Test light only verified whether or not ANY amps/voltage was coming OUT via the activated solenoids. Still pissed off. Anybody have any GOOD luck with these T-Max winches?

Tmax is just another Chinese winch, so there are good ones and bad ones. The solenoid unit with two SPDT solenoids is not known for its reliability, so get an Albright contactor as a more reliable replacement.

what I did with the stock solenoid arrangement ( came with my Mile Market E-12000 same cheap as yout tmax ) it's move it to the engine bay ..
