On my split t-case the PO used some sort of thread sealant on all of the bolts. it appears to be a silicone that stays tacky and is sor tof an aqua blue in color. he also used it on many of the gaskets. This stuff worked real well but I cannot find it anywhere, any one have any ideas as to what this stuff is?

The FSM calls for thread sealant on many of the bolts but does not specify a type. In the past I have used RTV silicone with mixed results, what do you guys use that will keep your t-case tight just like it came from the factory?

It is most likly a product called Hylomar (spelling) it really good stuff.

Fawk if I know...

I just used plain old blue loctite on the bolts and lightly lubed the gaskets.... so far so good no leaks after sitting for 12 hours

Mace.... that trans jack adapter kicks ass!!! fit perfect on my jack, the best $25 spent at harbo frieght!!

Did you never use it???

It is a lifesaver when you need to move a auto around...
Or a big pig of a 6 speed ferd tranny..
