Has anyone puts switches in the overhead console where the garage door opener holder is? Is this even possible? I'm thinking about putting a few switches for lights, compressor and what not up there...... What do y'all think?

That's my plan too. When it comes time, I'm going to have one of these built. Just installed one in a Subaru and it's fantastic quality.

Oh I like those, where exactly would be the best place to run wires out? What all were you planning on putting in switches for?

I am considering doing something for that spot too since it renders itself useless.

Yes it's doable :D

Here is a shot out of the truck... i'm working on the wiring. This is really a protoype - I have been speaking with Jon at GuagePlates on a custom panel.

I like the switches Gaugeplates offers! Nice find OregonLC (and RobRed)!

I looked at an Eaton switch catalogue a few years ago and they have a huge range of styles, sizes and also an incredible array of pictograms for identifying what the switch is for...but what a hassle sourcing them!

If it's just control wire (no power) then I'd think 16ga would be fine. I'd route it down one of the a-pillars. There's plenty of room under the roof liner and behind the pillar wrap.

And then probably use one of ese relay blocks to control the devices. Again, installed them in another vehicle and it's top quality stuff. Gaugeplates.com, your home for custom gauge and switch plates

Many of the remote garage door openers use a 12v batt, so I was going to hard wire one or two of them into switches as well to mimic Homelink.
