how much has even been updated with our software in the 2013's, they are only a year old, correct? Does it cost money to have the dealer update our software?

My 2013was built in May2012and had 2011map data in it.

The dealer updated the mapa data to 2012 data.

I can see no difference in my area with either map detail or functionality.

The USB update costs about $275.

My suggestion would be to have this update performed about every 5 years or so due to its high cost.

you are 100% correct! :bounce: what dealer can get me this USB, both sparks and the dealer i bought in from in San Antonio have NO clue about such USB update? i've found in the last hour that one can either use a "web update" or an "update tool" (key) which i presume is the USB you are referring to.

It took about three weeks of working with my local dealer to finally get the right USB update tool. The instructions from Toyota on this are sketchy and it appears the early 2013's had two or three different hardware vendors for the Nav system - each of which requires its own USB tool.

I think the "web update" you heard about is simply the fact that the dealer's TechStream computer must be connected to the internet before the USB updater can be used. The "key" is purchased by the owner and entered into the dealer's TechStream computer during the update process.

The "key" costs US$275.00. Due to the high cost, I will not update for another five years or so ...

thanks very much for the info and help. i'm going to the dealer at 8a.m. tomorrow, hopefully to have some good news.

Sorry the pics are from the android radio I installed in my girlfriends Pajero - but its the same for the TLC 200.

SNIP lots of pics.

That won't work unless it has the controls for the HVAC system built in, which I highly doubt. If it does let us know. I would buy it in a heart beat. I have looked at tons of 3rd party head units for the 200 and none can do it.

I have been able to source a couple that have the A/C controls also but not android base. We used them on our lower spec VX/VXR that came in last yr.

I have to talk to the supplier today about making an Africa MAP combo so I will see if the android one now has A/C controls also and get back to you.

Im thinking of going this route. The only gps map that works in my country is Google maps. Can you send a link to contact your supplier.
