Did you test it on bad roads at a higher speed ? I wonder if vibrations and knocking will be transferred thru the door.

The twin tubes close together was very hard to weld, It would be easier to use a single rectangular tube. Not sure if I want to go into production, I would probably loose my arse on it.

I just stayed with my factory camera. I usually only need it to see how far I can back up with my spare tire and jerry cans sticking out so far. For lines I just use the automatic side rear view mirror tilt down and I can see lines fine.
Those after market cameras are pretty cheap, so if you wanted to try one out and didn't work, no big loss.
No worries, I definitely understand your thoughts on building/selling. On the other hand, I would definitely be willing to pay for your time and talent. I would even drive up from SA to DFW for fitment/install. It’s a great looking design, and well worth the cost IMO.

Lab rat, I will pm you in a couple of days when I figure out my cost and time to fab another one. I have a couple tweaks to do to the license plate mount and once that is done I may green light another one. Will stay in touch.

First I have to refine it to the point where I’m 100% satisfied with it, right now I’m 90% satisfied. The last 10% may be hard to achieve.
I believe you have something unique there. A lots of people are trying to stick a big bumper and prepare for the end of the world. But, a lots of people would be happy just with a simple slim tire carrier. I drive around for the last four years without a spare tire. Tow hitch mount is not practical for the wife
I would probably use some rubber bushing at some point at the door . Metal on metal will develop a clunk soon or latter.

Working on eliminating as much flex as possible, added a support arm that attaches to the bumper. It helped a fair amount. Last area to modify is the frame mount, if possible. It’s been a slow process, tooo many things going on.

I am very surprised you're getting flex. Is it at the hinge?
I'm sure you're not getting flex from that dual tube arm.
For future builds, would a larger diameter and taller hinge mitigate the flex? Assuming that's were you're getting the flex.
Or is the bumper mount doing a beam flex along the length of the bumper from where it mounts to the frame?
