Swapping pinion assemblies question

I read somewhere that itis possible to swap your more used rear pinion aasembly with your front because they are the same. Can anyone confirm this or provide comments? Karl

I did it on my 40 Series, one could assume it would work on the 70 aswell..

if the truck in question is 1989 or older... the newer ones do not swap...

Ya .. you must need the same 9.5 axles front and rear.
