89 fj62 here. im gonna swap in a new(er) rear driveshaft. i tested out the tightness of the bolts, and as suspected, frozen. wont budge. im gonna torch them, but ive never torched bolts and nuts before, is there anything i should know? any tips? i am a little concerned about fuel vapor, but there is no smell of gas anywhere near the area. i wanna be safe of course.... thanks guys!

Try soaking in penetrating oil (PB blaster, Kroil, Deep Creep) and then heat 'em up, not to cut them off, just expansion, some mild hammer, and then try to free up the nuts, Good Luck

X2

Soak them for a couple of days. Using melting hot heat on those bolts could damage your pinion seal and :worms:with your diff or U-joints.

Much better to break them off, if it's possible with those bolts. They are very high grade.

alright, thanks for the input so far. ill def try some pb first. ill use the torch as a last resort.
