Ooops! Got the weekends turned around!

I may be volunteering at the parade with TARA if I get hooked up with them in time. That's always a good one anyway.

See you at Torrance and Crenshaw....That is my spot...

Too funny, I grew up there and my Dad still lives there 1st block over from Torrance Blvd and Hickory.

How long ago did you move away???

Moved south in 91, Pops is still there and I try to make it up fairly regularly. I always have my eyes out for fellow Cruiserheads. ;)

I was in Torrance today. Nice area on Torrance Blvd with those old restored houses. I like.

Had to take some video tape to Torrance City Cable TV.

What's the deal with the rail road gates that come down near the Exxon refinery? Is that in case
they need to evacuate or something? Said "please make u-turn through median"

That is incase the dreaded distaster occurs...In fact we do monthly or so tests just for that occurance...

I know where Torrance is. I wish I were closer to Torrance as I type :crybaby:

...so, back on topic.. :D

I ordered some new springs to replace the "light" OME's I'm on now (851/860), I may join the party with my own agenda!!

Either that or post up with a similar request for some help at a later time.

SoCal_80, did you get the caster bushings as well with your new stuff?

If so, do you have plans to put those in at the same time?

If so, do you own or have access to any tools to press those in/out?

If so, can I join up with you guys 'cause I haven't done the bushings yet and would love to make my life easier when I do this. I think that's the toughest part of this kind of spring upgrade.

I may be doing a clutch exchange on my '94 mini here in the next little while, but that's just maintenance... I want to UPGRADE :D

I've pretty much decided to drive up to Man A Fre and buy the 850/863 kit so I would like to part of the party as well!

Dan,

You know that I am in for free labor whenever you need it...give me a shouit when you are ready for the springs or clutch...and am proud to see you moving the truck "up" :):)

Do you need a press?? I might have access to one...

Hey..No i did not get the caster bushings. I got MAF's correction kit 80 Series Caster Correction . I got the drop brackets that i was told was the way to go...So, i do not think i need to press in/out any bushings.

Thanks Tim, I hope to be able to take you up on that. I really don't WANT to do the clutch this Saturday but it may be the only chance I get.
I hope to do this w/o a press, there's a tool I've heard you can use with an impact and a small and a large pipe to press them out, but I can't confirm it. Press may be required but the right diameter tools are still req'd.

Nope, with those you f'sure don't need bushings. It's one way to go but I don't remember how much lift you wanted anymore.

Hey, it'll happen one day! Sounds like Brads ready to go too! Right on, what a party this'll be!

So OK, lets really pick a date! I have the kit and am ready to go. The next two weeks are screwed up for me but I am anxious to get the kit on! What stinks is the tires that are on it now are partially dry rotted so i really can't drive it much until i get the lift on so i can put some new rubber on it. I am told 295's will fit on a stock truck, but do not want to risk not being able to drive it home from the tire shop. We still can totally have the "install party" at my place if that works for the group. I have a air compressor and with some air tools as well as a small to decent amount of hand tools, etc. I have a jack ( up to 20 inches) and heavy duty jack stands so i think we should be OK unless we want to do more than one truck at a time. Do we need a spring compressor also ? If someone else has a better place to do this, that can work also and i will bring my tools, bear and food to their place! But lets get a date in the books soon!

Oh ya, did i mention i will bring the :beer::beer: !!!!!

I think I could feel sick on Friday the 16th! :hillbilly:

Seriously, May is beginning to suck as far as getting anything done on a Saturday.

So the 24th is no good for me, and now the 31st is not looking great either.

I could do the 31st but have to be gone at ~2:00 PM (early start?)
(how much do the neighbors like you?)

Do you have enough space to do 2 or 3 trucks (up in the air on stands) at one time?

Anyway, pick a date what works fer you!

I blame you for my need to purchase bigger springs. Oh no, wait, it was that last trip to Gorman where I scraped once too many that pushed me over the edge.

I could make next Friday work if we're not going to be able to get a weekend set up. 24-25th are no good for me, will be out of town hopefully. Then I'm gone 7th-8th of June. Any other weekends work, or next Friday

Early on 31st would work too.

I have all my tools I can bring, but dont have the attachment for pressing the bushings out. I also have two jack stands I'll bring.

If anyone purchased a Slee kit and still have the bushing press attachment, that would be great if you could bring it along.

I'm going to spray my shock mount nuts with pb blaster in advance to make sure this goes smooth. Any other stuff I should spray before hand?

OK, i spoke to the boss/wife and it appears she will be outa town the weekend of June 7th. So, i am thinking that will be by far the best weekend to have a bunch of guys over wrenching on trucks, drinking  and getting things greasy and what not. I can move a trailer out of the drive way and can find room for three trucks in the driveway. Two would fit better, but we can get three in without any issues. With that said, how does June 7th work for the group ? I am also assuming someone who knows what the heck they are doing is coming over also, right ???

Friday the 16th would work great for me....I could make an effort for the 7th but need to know ahead of time...so I guess someone will just need to make a decsion...I will give it my best to be there... But again I have done a bunch with leaves but not coils...

 Funnay! Im coming over for the Qs and beer! J/K :D.
 For sure I can definitely tell you to have the tires on and the truck on the ground to reinstall the swaybars easier!

Theres nothing penciled on that date 6/7 in my schedule so I might be able to show up and help.
