I just installed the suspension youve got. No coil spring compressor was necessary - just some muscle. I even added 1" spacers all around. I still have to install the front control arm drop brackets though. I havent read thru the whole thread so forgive any repetition here. I also purchased the extended SS brake lines and rear brake proportioning valve extension bracket as well as the rear panhard drop bracket. Whole install took a few evenings after work. With the help it looks like youll have it'll be a nice afternoon.

Maybe with the 4" or 6" springs but OME 2-3" you can Muscle and droop the axles enough to get them to fit fine.

They all fit fine the key is to first obviously undo one end of the shocks and then loosen all the control/radius arm bolts. The taller the springs the more important it is. That lets them droop enough to get the springs in without trouble. Most forget about that but if you don't you are fighting all the bushings at once. But when you loosen the bolts the sleeve just rotates on its own, no problem. You also have to make sure the brake lines, abs lines, e-locker lines, etc have enough slack by undoing brackets and connections as neccessary.

So Mo, are you coming to the 6/7 install party? Itll be a bunch of white 80s in the area. LOL.

Just a reminder that we are still on for June 7th! I have a few folks that have confirmed so i think we are good to go. I have a jack, stands and some air tools, so i hope/think we will be in good shape!

Excellent. Springs came in today! 850J/864 combo.

:princess: said, "did you NEED these, or did you WANT these?"

How do you answer that question? Both of course!

I am going to try my best to make it. Fingers crossed.

I am in atleast for a while on the 7th...depends on work as to how long I can stay...

Dan...that sounds like a question that has no good answer...cause we all know you wanted them but that is not always the right answer for the :princess:

You just get REALLY Technical when you answer and she will tune you out probably as you tuned her out after she said "or did you WANT these?" I'm sure there were some :censor::censor::censor: after that comment....

I could be blind but I didn't see a time for the 7th. I probably won't know for sure untill the last minute or so but I want to try edge it in my favor. :D

...so what is your favor? Earlier is better for me but I can fit the other Saturday chores around this one. (Yeah, like this is a chore)

Would be good if somebody picked a time, maybe SoCal_80 can check in since we are crashing his house.

By the way, are we going to try to press in bushings? In that case it sounds like we'll be in need of a pretty good press - anybody?

Probably the earlier the better but don't pick time based on me. I will only be moral support as I will be recovering from a surgery on the 2nd.

Mo - dont worry you dont have to move.
Somebodys going to be able to fetch you a beer from the cooler. :D

Hey guys. Ya i agree, let's get started early which will leave us more time in the event we run into an issue or two. How about 9:00 am ? Does that work ? I will have room for 1 -2 additional rigs in the driveway if anyone else wants to work on something and i will "reserve" a spot on the street for someone to work which will be near tools and air tools if needed. I am thinking i will supply the beverages (:beer::beer:), chips and what not in exchange for helping me :wrench::wrench::wrench:, and perhaps we can all pitch in for pizzas later or i know a great bar that serves amazing burgers nearby.

Perhaps I should start to get an official role call of who is planning on coming, what tools (if any) they can/will bring and i can then PM everyone with my address and directions (I am very close to Sky Links golf course and the Long Beach airport).

So, who is with me??????

OK, ready to go. 9:00 AM ...works for me.

I'll bring...
Floor jack
jack stands (4?)
random tools
energy drinks (all above for sharing)
850J/864's (not for sharing)

...and hopefully, Landtanks CC bushing template

Anything else?

Anybody want to buy the 851/860 takeoffs right then and there?

Now we are talking.

I can bring some tools if neccesary, just not some big heavy ones. I have air tools and a good selection of hand tools.

My lift and I will be there in spirit ;)

Hope you guys have a smooth install and locate a 20-ton press to get your new bushings in.

I will be coming from work so 9 works good for me...I have a floor jack, jack stands(4) if needed and tools...wish I knew someone down that way with a press, will ask my mac tool friend if he knows anyone. If you need any specific tools or a second one woulf help post it up. Lookin forward to meeting you guys and hjelping where I can.

Tim

Sounds like the plan is coming together!
I won't need a press as i purchased the bracket kit : 80 Series Caster Correction that they recommended. For the type of wheeling i will be doing, they said it was the only way to go.

You're right. If Brad's not gonna make it, and you have the drop-downs, I'm the only one in need of the press - unless Boyd decides it's a good time to do his CC bushings (?)

That's cool, if I get the springs done, that may be a good day - bushings are an added bonus and I'll just run out to a nearby shop that has a press for some help.
