My 08 has 202k miles on it. Caught a hell of a deal for a complete front/rear suspension set from a 2020 take off with 5k miles. Every thing bolted right up. KDSS was straight forward. I did notice my part numbers was completely different from from the 2020 set. Even seem to be almost leveled. Granted with 202k miles on coils I would imagine some sag. Rides beautiful for obvious reasons. Just wondering if the struts, shocks absorbers, and coils had different dampenings through out the years. Thanks

Damping may be different, but without tearing both parts down there is no way to tell. Last I checked a 2020 base had one rear spring the same part number as earlier trucks, and one was different. This points to small changes in coil rate or length, for one side of the rear anyway.

Most likely the level you notice was getting rid of the sagged springs, as you mentioned.

I can verify that the 2020 suspension fits perfectly on a 2013. It was a massive improvement over a 100k worn suspension.

I measured some rear coils last night. It seems like the longer spring is probably the part number that changed over the years (correct me if I am wrong) and the leveling effect is probably partly because the longer rear spring was made shorter over the years, resulting in less rake.

These measurements are unsprung, out of the vehicle.

2013 Rear springs with 100k miles on them: 18" on the long coil, 16 5/8" on the short coil, approx. 17.5mm thick

2018 Rear springs with minimal miles on them: 17 3/4" on the long coil, 16 5/8" on the short coil, approx. 17.5mm thick
------------------

2021 Heritage Edition Rear springs, zero miles: 18 3/4" on the long coil, 18" (could be 17 15/16 or 17 7/8") on the short coil, approx. 17.5mm thick but maybe a hair thinner than above.
(Heritage Edition springs are different than the above springs and are part numbers 48231-60E50 RH 48231-60E40 LH )

Good info. To add to it, 2020 heritage rear springs have a thinner wire and more wraps as well, so they seem to be a different spring rate. Possibly because of the lack of a third row. I’m trying to keep an eye out for 2021 heritage with third row springs to see if they match the base thicker wire/less wraps.

Interesting thanks

I installed the Heritage Edition rear springs in my 2013 LC tonight and so far really like the result. They replaced OME 2720 progressive coils which were too stiff for my weight (zero added weight over stock). I have king 2.5 shocks and need some lift in back to match the lowest preload lift on the front coilovers. The HE rear coils with a 10mm spacer is looking and feeling good so far. Too soon to tell how they will settle. I also replaced all the rubber bushings on the rear sway bar / stabilizer bar and links, which feels better (111k miles on the originals). The HE springs will probably be too soft for most people with much added weight. I still have the 3rd row installed but that's it.

Standard king 600# front coils? Any extra weight on that axle?
I have 2720s in back at the moment with no third row and like them, but also have some HE’s on the shelf and might give them a go.

Yes standard 600# king front springs. No extra weight front or rear, don't tow often, one or two people in the car most of the time. In New Orleans, where I live, the streets are in very poor condition but most driving is low speed. Softer springs just seem to do better here around town and the king shocks can control them. If I was on smooth roads or interstate (or off road with higher speeds), the 2720s would have been great. I'm sure I would have gotten used to them anyway, but was looking to get the suspension set up just how I want it and then just leave it alone for a while. No plans for more weight. Also I run 18" 275/65 tires so the extra tire on your 17" might change things for you. I'm looking for a very smooth ride but don't want to bounce around or feel unstable basically.
