Where did the "remanufactured" engine come from? was it a complete engine swap or a top end overhaul? or something else?

Was the head gasket repair in the receipt above done on the new engine?

I live 1800 miles away from the 80 that Joey mentioned. I haven't seen it in person. I bought it because Joey went and looked at it and said it was worth the amount we discussed. I'm flying out in 3 weeks and driving it back.

If you are thinking of buying an 80 then I would take Joey up on his offer to look at it. Then either ship it or fly out and drive it to where you live.

There are a handful of guys I would trust to inspect a truck for me befor I purchase it sight unseen. Joey is one of them.

$5k for a clean, rust free 40th? I don't think you can go wrong in that ball park.

FYI: Based on other receipts the seller sent me, the engine was replaced with remanufactured cylinder block by MJM in 8/2014 at 438k. From the receipts above, in June last year at 449k, owner went back to MJM complaining of overheating problems, they found low coolant and diagnosed a faulty radiator, which was replaced. Apparently that didn't fix it, because at 454k, he returned with a blown hg, this time MJM attributed it to a bad heater control valve.

Also mentioned in the other receipts is that the front axle shafts, beatings and seals were replaced in 01/2015.
