Take the running boards off and you'll be surprised what it can do.

Spend $800 on it and you'll gain a far better on-road ride and you'll be friggin' stunned on where it can go and with so much comfort and ease.

Enjoy!

Well, That's the eventual idea - and I will need to wait on the OME and ARB stuff. My wish list is about $2000 - considering I just dropped over $5k for it, I need to hold off for a bit.

Trust me, I wish it was that simple and I could go pluck some green from the trees and buy some shwag!

I hear ya. What I'm saying is don't wait until you want to spend the $2000. Spend your first $800 ASAP.

With the right springs, shocks, and T-bars, you'll take that thing right where you can go on most runs and without mangling your truck.

Then, once sliders and tires go on....you can take some of the optional lines.

After the bumpers...you're way into the game.

Yes...$800 will take you up a huge notch in an instant!

Anyone running this?

As of now I have to make a mid-day airport run - if that falls thru, I want to go.

If I can stand up and walk, I'd still like to go.
Camping is out, as the idea of sleeping on a .5" foam pad on uneven ground sounds excruciating right now.

Cos you'll aks...
My bumper is almost 200 lb now. And I took it off and put it back on more than a dozen times last night. And tonight I was shaping it on the truck (lying under it) with an acetylene rosebud, a floor jack and a BFH. I can't bend at the waist, and my arse muscles hurt like I was beaten up.
I need help if I'm ever gonna finish this damned project.

I've never seen this trail before. Realistically, is my rig gonna make it on 3"/295s without a rear locker or sliders?

The locker isn't a problem. :D

Realistically, I could pass on the run- I've beat myself to death over the past 2 weekends. I'd go if there was big interest, but the OP hasn't shown any, and counting on Carl is pointless. :flipoff2: So it's up to you guys. Come Sunday I'll probably be excited to go- although Saturday might be better if the OP isn't going.

Jesus, each one of those is a two month project minimum where I come from.

Where do you live?

Ahwatukee.

Good thing I've already been working on my bumper for a month.
All I've done for the sliders is priced the steel. $8.50/foot!!!

Boy, if you could make them out of 2.25 or 2.75 OD, I have bunches of it. Might even be able to give you a hand working on it, depending on your schedule. I'm over by the Chandler Fashion Mall, so not too far away. John

I may take you up on the offer.

However, ...

I think I've figgered out how to finish bending the skid plate for the bumper. I have our Cat 304.5 compact excavator in the shop for PM. It has a backfill blade. I'm going to use it as a makeshift press-brake. :hillbilly: And as soon as we get more acetylene, I just need to burn the bolt holes (more :hillbilly:, but someone walked away with my hand drill, and our mag drill kinda sucks) and holes for the shackle tabs (which I don't have yet ). I think I'll use the 304.5 as a cherry picker too, when I'm ready to reinstall it.

The sliders are nothing more than a picture in my head and a stick of 2"x3"x.250 tube sitting in the shop, waiting for me to pay for it.

So what time will the run be?
I need to get my bumper and winch off sometime sunday so I can take my truck to Power for major surgery (replacing inner fender aprons) If we don't get back too late I can make this run

If we go, which seems unlikely, you would almost definitely get back past dark-thirty.

I've pretty much given up and am planning which household projects to tackle. Only interest I see is me and hj60, with puulboy as a 'maybe'. Hell, we're all 'maybe's', so what's the point?

BManning never came back, so I stayed home and got stuff done.

I'm lost - in general.
