Hi All...

Just bought my 2nd LC (02 100) a few weeks ago and I realized today that I've neglected my first born, the 91 FJ80. That thought got me itching to hit the trail BAD!

Anyone up for a trail run on the 1st or 2nd Sunday in October? I'm in Phoenix and only have 1 day to play so I'd prefer to be within a reasonable distance. Sedona? Prescott? Bartlett Lake? Sunflower Mine? Box Canyon?

Any AZ wheelers up for an early autumn Sunday run?

I'm always up for a run, but will have to wait to commit to anything. Pick a date and a place, and they will come. :D

:cool:Cool, guys...I'll get back in touch with you a little closer to the date and hopefully we can put something together.

I'm assuming we're doing a run where I'll need the lifted 80 as opposed to the stock 100?

It's your run, you decide. :D

-Spike

Well, that's tough & here's why:

The 80 is the trail runner in the family and she's done nothing but collect dust in the RV gate recently

...but...

I'm dying to find out what a stock 100 can do (hopefully find out what it can do without ripping off the running boards and/or bumpers on the rocks).

Leaning toward the 80!

I know it's "my" run and I'm happy to own it, but I'm sure ya'll know a lot more trails that moi. Any great trails in/around Prescott? Methinks that the foliage might be blastin' making for a very scenic outing.

I've yet to run Desoto Mine...

But there are some pleasant runs in that area too that would be great for the stock 100 and end in Crown King at the days end...

The 100 will wheel the plastic right off itself. :D It's a capable wheeler, but in a dress and high heels it's gonna take some damage if you take it somewhere that will challenge its capabilities. Wait 'till you get it in jeans and a T shirt before you unleash it.

I was thinking something like a scenic Senator Highway run down to CK from Mayer-ish for a stock 100 scenic/safety run.

X2.
I love Senator Hiway. Plus, you can prolly get a good view of the burn area from the fires up there.
If you go all the way into CK, buy stuff. Top off, get a soda, have a beer in the saloon, buy fudge. They need the $$$.

Or the back road up from Pleasant, with interesting options. :D

We always have lunch there. And I always pack fudge.

-Spike (What?)

Hmmm...back road up from Pleasant in the 80...that could be fun.

Spike might have a real good point about my 100's stock bumpers & boards just beggin' to get smashed on the rocks.

I'm open to either one-- challenging in the 80 or scenic in the 100. I just want to get one of them off-pavement, for the love of God!

Its Bmanning's thread/run - he has to make the call. Decisons decisons...

Back road from Pleasant seems to be leading this horse race so far...

"My" run, a group decision, I care not-- I'm not a territorial Alpha about such things. I just want to get out and enjoy one of these money pits and justify their existence (Wife thinks I'm nuts-- "It's not like you can drive them both at the same time.")

That's why I posted, to get ideas on some good options. I've run Broken Arrow and a few other Sedona trails in my 80; I've also run Sunflower Mine a few times, and Four Peaks but that's it. I did Crown King in my Polaris Ranger but I haven't "Cruised" it. Never had the pleasure of wheeling in or around Prescott, Flag, or numerous other areas.

The only problem with doing both on back-to-back Sundays is the fact that I work every other Sunday, so that's out for me. Maybe we run a trail, take a Sunday off, then run another trail :D

Let's do this! Long before I bought my Cruisers I lurked on this forum and I know that so often these runs fizzle and nobody goes anywhere:frown:

Ok. Which of those 2 Sundays are you working and which are you off?

Ok. Make it official. Either ammend the first post with details or start a new thread with details.
I'm free both Sundays and Spike's unemployed and single, so y'know he has no constraints on his time. :flipoff2:

I will find out which Sunday I'm free to play and make it official!

Spike, this back road from Pleasant is a trail you've run, yes? I'm not locked but I have about 3.5-4" of Old Man Emu & 33" BFGs going on...I take it that's passable for what's in store?

Are you guys up for meeting early? I get up early but not everyone does...
