Howdy Folks!

The Summer Calendar is built!! Start planning your days off, lining up your vacation time, and prepare to have a blast!! This will without a doubt be the best 406 Cruisers summer yet. With almost 20 trail days, trail clean-up's, and our BBQ, there should be plenty of opportunities to find something you'd like to do. The trail rides will range in difficulty from new drivers and stock trucks up to needing 33” tires with lifts. There will also be some trips added throughout the summer.

I will usually send out a reminder email a week or so before the event, and we will coordinate and plan on the 406 Cruisers clubhouse of ih8mud. But check the calendar for your scheduling purposes. I will also include info about the difficulty of the trails, and required equipment.

Please be aware that we will have some vehicle requirements for trail rides and clean-up's. A CB radio is mandatory. Contact Right Channel Radios on our sponsor page for info. Your vehicle must be in good mechanical condition. If your truck leaks or smokes excessively, we would ask you to co-pilot with another truck until those issues are resolved. It is also required to have your brake system in good condition. This includes a working parking brake. If you need help with any of these issues, or have a question, feel free to contact me.

Remember, trail rides, clinics, and events are for current members only. So renew your TLCA membership and pay the 406 Cruisers club dues so you don't get left out of all the fun!

Thanks

TC

Ah yes, the Nomad rule :D . Make sure those brakes work people!! And no, I don't want to talk about it.. because nothing ever happened . but after the Morrison Jeep Trail it is indeed a needed requirement

HAHA! Definitely required there!

Do line locks count for e-brake?
I guess we are on the fence about it. If it holds on steep inclines for extended amounts of time, they'll probably be ok. I guess us old school guys trust the mechanical system over a hydraulic system being electronically controlled. I imagine you trust the system?? Any real-world experience with it? Any thoughts or feedback from other members?

Some entities have strong feelings, some don't. Rather know ahead of time than find out the morning of a tech inspection.

It is a mechanical spring loaded Jamar, push the brake down and push in the knob, repeat to release. Had it over 10 years and replaced it once when it started getting sticky. I have never had it fail or bleed down (knock on wood). My only caveat is I only ran it to the rear discs.

Very rarely get out of the truck with it running if safety is at question anyway, but you never know.

You're quite a haul from my house so I doubt I could make runs regularly. Would be more likely special occasions and trailer over.
