What are those wheels, BTW?
Corrected below. They are a new wheel by Nomad.

They are actually a new Nomad wheel.Fifteen52 Analog HD with FJ40 hubcaps adapted
Makes me wonder if the 80-series is still the hardest core LC wheeler. Or if portals are more desirable than this.
I LOVE this idea. Both Micah @MTKID and Chad @J2HundyOutfitters are good friends, so this would be such a fun time! Regarding the question of whether this or portals is better, I’ll weigh in with some pros and cons: first, the pros for portals: 1. Clearance: with Werewolf portals and 40s I have the clearance of a 51” tire. 2. Gearing: I have the equivalent of 5.26 gears. I have to use brakes to stop from climbing the RTI ramp! Lol. (When Chad creates that doubler I’m gonna have super deep gears!) 3. Less wear and tear on my drivetrain. 4. 5.2” of lift, 9” total of additional width (stability with the lift). 5. Full float rear axle 6. Bigger rotorsAgree. We need to plan a Moab or similar trip this fall to test and document. You know, for science. Paging @MTKID @XFACTR @J2HundyOutfitters
I can bring my 80 series on 42's to the testing field.
Minimum tire size to join?Agree. We need to plan a Moab or similar trip this fall to test and document. You know, for science. Paging @MTKID @XFACTR @J2HundyOutfitters

Chad, can you tell us more about this? Are you planning on replacing it later and down the frame rail?
