Stuck! FJ40 Crooked windows!

All,

Looking for some expertise on a lingering issue I can’t figure out how to solve: no matter what I can’t get my front driver/passenger windows to sit level (and therefore close properly). I’ve adjusted the 4 bolts for the regulator, and even pulled the window out to make sure it was the right shape (it was), and no matter what I can’t get it to work. I’m wondering if maybe I just have the wrong regulators, but before I spend $$ to replace I wanted to check with you all for your wisdom!

Maybe you’re not aware, the original regulators were manual hand crank operated. They never had power windows.

Like stated above.....that regulator is not stock.....it's junk.

Man I haven't seen one of those power window conversion kits where they put a motor on the manual regulator in years!!!! Thanks for the memory haha.

Do you have pics of the current regulator pulled? It's likely a aftermarket.

Don't believe this is a US market either. The inside of the cap looks like it has a vent above the passenger door. Also the hard top at the B pillar has a rub not on Toyota OEM hard top sides. These seats looks someone posted on mud last week asking who the manufacturer is.

Thanks all for the comments and as @rainingagain pointed out: the set up is a motor driving the hand crank gear to raise/lower the window. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the regulator out, but if that’s necessary I can tear it apart again and snap a photo.

Lastly- I believe this is a South American example (I bought it from a collector in Florida) and I wasn’t the one who asked about the seats(I assumed they were from a modern Toyota?).

Sometimes the replacement window run channel is a little too tight against the glass and needs to be spread open a little so the glass can move more freely.

Found the threads and the seats were similar but different. Cruiser was blue as well. It was also an import from another markets, very possibly from South America.
