So after having no problems for a long while all of a sudden my remote start quit working. Fob has a new battery and it isn’t a gas tank level, proximity or trouble code issue. It just stopped working. Is the remote start part of the same system that does the proximity / fob functions or is it a separate module?

Ideas?

Separate ECU that sits to the right of the MTS ECU

It Is seen by Techstream so might want to see if there are codes. Failure in that system won’t trigger light

i installed that OEM system years back on mine

Good to know thank you. Is that under the globe box to the right or in the bowels or the console? lol

If you have a techstream check the data and see if it thinks the door, hood or rear hatch is open.

Don’t have tech steam so I need to find someone in the DFW / east Texas area to give me a hand since my man Giovanni is traveling all the time heh.

Haven't seen Giovanni in a while, was wondering what happened to him.
Guess he's enjoying his rig and trailer!

He got a new job that has him travel a bunch. He’s still alive I promise. Hah.

Anyway, are there any other troubleshooting steps I can take outside of tech stream?

If it's to the right of the MTS module then you need to pull the passenger side center stack trim and the glove box. The MTS module is above and left of the glove box.

Start watching around 27:50 for where the MTS module is located.

This module will only be on 10-15 models as well. 2016 went to Enform remote start.

These installation instructions should offer some guidance as well. Side note for someone who reads this later with a Canadian 460... this won't work on those vehicles. I installed this OEM kit on my '12.

Example of what you would see for troubleshooting in TS using screen from the CL install thread I linked to above.

Thanks all. This helps.

you don't by any chance have an extra fob in the car's center console or something?

So what does it take to get remote start on 2016?

Paid and built-in Enform option sunsets for 16-18 models after 10.31.22 3G shutdown.

Many have installed this

I'm still here... been busy! I didn't know they had remote start either, but mine is a 2016 so I glean from this thread I'd have to have an Enform subscription. I've found Enform to be a total POS, so have never bothered poking around to see what it can do.

Well, that's all I got. :meh:. I'm the guy who owned his rig for a year before accidently discovering that it HAD remote start...
Hey! Look what I found stuck to the underside of the hood!!!!

I put that sticker and these when I installed that OEM kit ... only for 10-15 models though

OEM Kit came with these sticker that were to be put in the rear bottom of each front side windows.

Phew, mine doesn't have those so I feel less like an idiot. 😂

But I DID have to go look, cuz...you know... I'm kind of an idiot...
