Strange rattle, help diagnose...

My valves are pretty noisy... If you haven't had a valve job done in a while it can only help to have them checked

Couldn't be one of the pulleys could it? I swear that I have a strange noise now after the Lexus dealer replace a pulley under warranty for me...

I too am interested in the reason for pointing the rig downhill and listening? Come on Doug, enlighten us

Maybe bearings in one of the pulleys or something that comes on after the engine warms up?

Water pump replaced, idler pulley replaced so both of those are ruled out.

Ok, pulled the valve cover today, all the valves are in spec according to the FSM. Still rattles, can't figure it out.... any other ideas???

Mine is more upper end, right near where the timing chain/distributor is
