I've got a leak somewhere that is soaking the carpet right about where the front seat passenger's right foot would sit. I have not noticed it in a long time, I thought it was fixed by a leaking windshield that replaced months ago. It has happened on dry days with no rain and on rainy days. This is really soaking the carpet. Im lost here. Any ideas?

What year? What model? What country? What miles?

is it clean water or coolant?

moonroof drains blocked?

Where are our heater cores? And could that be leaking?

do searches on "sunroof leak" and "moonroof leak".

Do you have an aircon ?

It is probably the condensation drain for the evaporator core. It is supposed to drain through the floorboard and it may be blocked or loose.

I would second checking that as most likely culprit. Have had same problem on several trucks now.

I haven't had the problem personally, though I have seen and heard of it. In your case reffug, what was the problem, a clog or the drain tube not extending through the grommet?

Sorry, I should have noted......it's a 97 FZJ, US model. I don't see how it could be the sunroof. The conden. drain or evap core would make sense.......but it's not wet all the way up under the dash or the top of the carpet, just right there by the kick panel. Is the drain tube that long?

Plugged slit drains on the right rocker panel. Pull the black plastic plugs under the front door edge.

Do you have vapor barriers inside your doors? I was missing one on the rear driver's side and it was the cause of a similar leak on on the driver's side of my 80. A loose piece of door window moulding allowed rain to get inside the door which ran down the interior door panel and drained into the inside of the truck above the rocker and ran forward to the lowest part of the floor area right where you describe. It's unlikely but worth look. Good luck!

One case was drain tube not extending through the grommet. The other a nissan  was the tube coming completely off on a long distance trip from TX to VA in the summer by myself. Didn't notice till 1800 miles later. What a friggin mess. :whoops:
