After quite a lot of running in low range this weekend, experienced the same behavior two different times.

Pulled to a stop, shut the truck off, everything was fine. Went to start back up two mins later, and she wouldn't start.

Starter was fine, she turned over fine, fired fine. But after that engine just sputtered and died. Tried several times. Like the engine was in limp mode, or the computer was shutting it off.

Waited 10 mins, cranked right up, no problem, and ran great. Did this exact same thing twice.

Thoughts?

Mine did this for the first time even while in low range after climbing a steep incline. Once I hit the top and let off the throttle it died. Never has done it prior.

There is several threads about dying in low range, or I have read about it.

My questions are,

-were you under hard throttle just prior?
-coming off a steep incline?

Shane: yes and yes for the first time. Second time was 15 mins later when I got back to camp. Shut it off then tried to crank as a test. Same behavior, wouldn't crank, then 10 mins later no probs.

Weird.

Trying giving it gas next time during starting. 100's like to flood themselves sometimes after short drives. After a quick run to the gas station (.1 miles) it will sputter to life. If I drive more than a few miles, it will start like a raped ape.
