So the ole SafetyRunner got a bit battered on Friday night. We had recently lost power, so I went with some neighbors to grab some food, while enjoying the heat and light. I drove since I love snow and driving in it. Then a tree in a property adjacent to the restaurant blew over, and its canopy engulfed the front end of my baby. Hood, headlight, bumper, trim, right fender, both outside mirrors, roof, etc. are damaged.

Hoping the body shop can include installing my new SSO lo profile bumper, light bar and winch during the repair.

Nobody hurt--no beer spilled. I call that a win-win!

Glad no one was hurt. Traveled to Philly this weekend for a tournament and it was ugly Friday night!

Friday was slow going everywhere around the city and northwest suburbs. Many traffic lights out and trees down. Normal commutes that take less than an hour took 3 for some of my friends. These Nor'easters tend to leave central PA alone. Hope you and your family are safe @joabmc. The next storm is tracking to hit Tuesday night around here.

We got in around 7:30 when things were nasty and the Turnpike was a mess. Power went out at the hotel from Friday around 9:30 until Saturday at 1:00 pm. So overall not too bad. Was difficult to find a place open Friday night to get food. Drove around the Fort Washington area for more than an hr trying several places until we found something open.

Hopefully the next round isn’t as damaging!

Glad all will end well. We had a scare at my house with a 100+ft oak tree that is near the house. It began churning up the water logged ground around the roots and was heaving 4-6" in the wind.

And what do we do when the next storm hits? The ground is already saturated. Any way you can tie it off into the woods before tomorrow evening? Maybe use one of those Batman grappling hooks...

Called and made sure I have insurance coverage if it comes down. Will try and see what a service will charge to fell it, but most companies around here book 6 weeks out and after a storm like this they are harder to get to come out to look at it. It hurts my feelings to cut it down unless completely necessary. It's the 2nd or 3rd largest tree in the yard.

I'm handy with my saw. I usually cut and split 7 cords a year, but this tree is close to the house. If I ever get my bumper and winch on, I can use my climber stand to get a rope up the tree and then a snatch block and the winch to make sure it falls in the right direction?

How can I get the pics to show up large size like the original poster?

I upload most of my pics on my phone. Use the upload file button and the pick out whatever picture you wish.

Glad no harm was done to anything other than a car. Metal can easily bd replaced.
