Does anyone know which grey carpet from stockinteriors would best match the dark grey in a 93? I ordered samples some time back, but haven't received them. I'm ready to order, but I'm unsure which color will match best. The previous owner pulled the factory carpet, so the only thing left to match is the bottom of the doors.

Thanks

If you haven't received them yet, that would throw a flag for me. I would email/call them and see where they are. If they do not respond, I would look elsewhere, or for a good OEM used set.

I looked back and it's only been about a week and a half since I ordered the samples. I called today but got another call while I was on hold. OEM would be great, but I didn't figure that's an item that comes up very often. I'm not spending the money that new OEM would cost. I know many here have had good luck with stockinteriors, so I thought I'd try it.
It doesn't have to be a perfect match. Just whatever someone has found to be close.

Thanks

I ordered brown samples from that company a few years back, don't recall how long it took however, maybe a week.

I did not order a carpet but from looking at the samples I would say that the carpet was a step down from the OEM quality, not bad, just not as tough. The fibers or threads of the pile were not as thick or stiff as OEM and I could pull out some fibers easily by pinching and pulling; can't really do that with the OEM carpet. The backing was a bit thinner also. These were brown samples, can't say the other colors are exactly the same. For the price I would say it would be worth it however they sell one optional style that comes with a rubber backing for an additional cost, that might decrease some more noise and heat coming up from the floor. Either way it's about the only aftermarket choice.

I ordered carpet from them. It was good for me considering my carpet was shot and smelled like someone died on it. It's gray, but not dark gray. I don't remember which one I chose.

I'm leaning more towards a dark grey. Hopefully the samples will come soon.

I installed their carpet a few months back. It's def not as durable/heavy looking as OEM. I'm happy with it and can't beat the price though. I wish it was pre cut, I messed up in a few places but I'm not trying to have a show rig so I don't care to much

I am looking at ordering this carpet kit too. I have a 97 with the gray interior and wondering if you ever got the samples and the color figured out. Need to pull the trigger without waiting on samples since the interior is already pulled apart. If you have any pictures of the gray that you chose, let me know! Thanks

I wound up getting stock carpet from a parted out vehicle from a member here. I'll look and see if I still have the samples and compare them. Seems one was pretty close.

The factory carpet definitely seems to be better quality, but I figure I was pretty fortunate to find a nice one. My main concern with aftermarket was not having the old carpet to use for a template to cut.

IF you could check the sample that would be awesome! I bought my second 80 as a project and the mice smell is strong with this one. It is going to be a trail and around town rig, not a DD, so cheaper carpet will not bother me as long as it doesn't smell if mouse piss! Plus I have all the carpet still in there, just need to remove it. Already have all the seats out, just a matter of pulling it and marking the new carpet once it is installed.

These are the two closest matches I have. Pay no mind to the crumbs and cereal the kiddos have left behind.

8019 is on the left.
8078 on the right.

Thanks for the picture, I appreciate it. Wow, that seems to be a pretty big color difference between those samples and your carpet! In looking at the color samples on the stockinteriors.com, Maybe I should go with the standard grey or ebony. I guess if the color is a little off, I don't think it would bother me that much.

They're actually a little closer than the pictures show, but not an exact match. I had thought of maybe going black since I couldn't get an exact match.

What color do you think was closer to stock? What year is your 80?

I think the 8019. It reflected the flash some in the picture.

Mine is a 1993, but the carpet is from a 1995 I believe.

Thanks. I have a 96 and 97, and both are gray interiors, not sure if other years are the same color or not. I appreciate the info. Might just pull the trigger on carpet this week. Want to start the fun part of the build with lift, tires, bumpers, etc.

No problem. This is the blueish grey color. I'm not familiar enough with the colors to know if they ever used another grey color. I'm sure someone on here does.

Two years ago I installed 8945-Ebony Plush Cut Pile from stock interiors in my 96. I like it pretty well, but as said, not as good of quality as OEM but is much much cleaner and better than the dirty carpet I removed. I'll post a picture when I get home.
