please could someone tell me the diameter of the torsion bars on a stock 100 series diesel 2001 model. The ones i have on are 30.2mm and the ride is very harsh on all roads over small unevenness. Only measurements iv been able to find are for petrols and aftermarket. thanks.

AHC equipped: 26.2mm
Toyota OEM: 28mm
OME: 30mm
IronMan/ToughDog/SwayAway: 32mm
Sounds like you have the OME bars which are more suited to a "lightly" built front end. Maybe just a bullbar and winch. The 32mm are more prudent for bullbar, winch, dual battery, steel belly plates type of builds.
Could also be that if it's a new vehicle purchase, someone cranked them up for lift and you're maxing out without hardly any down travel. That would make it ride link junk pretty easily.
Also diesel model torsion bars are longer than gas/petrol ones by 50mm, so they aren't interchangeable unless someone did something crazy with yours.
i have tested without any front shocks and it rides the same besides a bit of front bouncing which is to be expected. i have also wound down to stock height and that made no difference. 30mm torsion without a front bumper or winch surely wouldnt make it feel so rough on the smallest of bumps.
