Stock Radio Opening Dimensions.

Hello - I am looking for the dimensions of the stock radio hole opening on a late model (75+ish) FJ40. How wide specifically, but both height and width would be nice.

Thank you! I am repairing the dash on my 1981 - which was cut wide to fit a CB Radio or large cd player.

If mine was already cut I would tastefully repair it so that it would accept a single DIN radio. I don't have the measurements handy but it is about the height of a single DIN and about 1/2" too narrow.

Im pretty sure mine was un hacked by the PO so i can look when I get home tonight just to make sure.....I also still have the factory radio so if worse comes to worse I can measure that for you to give you a good guess if you would like.

Stock Radio Opening

I measured mine this past weekend for a project idea I have... here's a snap shot of the dimensions I took: (view is from the inside looking aft)

Thanks again! I am revisiting this as I am going to fix my radio opening.

Question, Do the radios have a backing plate or plastic surround? I checked the diagrams on SOR...but don't see one. Was it just the black face plate?

The 2.06" opening even appears to have a slight 1/8" or less gap.

Any pictures of stock radio's installed?
