As the title puts it..... how do I measure what height my 80 is ?
P/O had as 3 inch OME which to me looks lower like maybe it's a 2 inch lift!
I'm running 35's had no problems but wanted to check what it actually is!
I've measured from the hub center and I'm pretty much 23 inches from hub to fender flare.
Is stock height 20 inches from hub to flare ?
Thanks peeps

Bout halfway down the first post is what you are looking for. Sounds like you have a 3 inch lift.

I did see the post but it was very long and just quickly skimming through it I didn't notice anything on measuring stock heights but mainly what you get in aftermarket shocks & springs mainly compared to OME .

Thanks for your reply though!!

How long has that lift been on the truck? Coils will sag with age.

Search Compiled 80 series suspension. Its in the 1st post at the bottom written 4 different ways with pictures.

Thank you! just rediscovered it

My saggy LX was 19 5/8" on both sides in the front. Those were original springs with 195K. I put OME 861s and 60018 Nitro Chargers on the front and it went to 21 1/2". The rear measures 20 on the DS, 19 1/2 on the PS. The rear shocks and springs should be here Friday. :D

Was the replacement front OME supposed to be like OEM stock height or are the 600018 supposed to lift it ?
Thanks!!

I believe it's the springs that actually "lift"... I'm using what is considered the "stock height" kit. The 600018's are the front shocks in the OME stock height and OME 2.5" lift kits

OME "stock height" springs are probably a little taller than a 100% fresh set of stock springs, but will provide 1.5-2" lift compared to a set of well aged stock springs.

General consensus is that 20" from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender flare is more or less "stock height." Although it will vary a lot depending on the age and condition of the springs, or any additional weight carried in the vehicle. If you measure 23", fair to call that a 3" lift. 🤷‍♂️

I have a 3 inch ome lift and am using the slee caster bushings, I’ve never felt the steering was right. I have an uninstalled set of 3.5 inch caster brackets and am planning on switching. Would it be a big neg to have to much caster instead of too little?
