If this topic has been covered before I apologize. I did my best to do all the research I could before buying parts but the last time I asked for help here I got blasted by other members for asking things that have been asked before. Due to that prior experience, I perhaps wasn't as informed as I wished to be (although I thought the stock wheels would work because that's what most people seem to be running) before spending my hard earned dollars on parts. I'm hoping now that I haven't wasted money on wheels and tires that are not compatible with my new suspension setup.
So here's the problem! I just lifted my 99' LC 2.5" with a package consisting of Slee Diff Drop, Nitro Gear UCA's, OME torsions and springs and Icon remote reservoir shocks. Prior to the lift and for many years, the truck has been running 18" Momo wheels and last winter I put 285/65-18's which are 32.6" tall. After the lift, the truck seems to have no problems with this combo and I even trail tested it, it seems fine. However, I do not want to run 18" wheels anymore and so I bought a full set of stock 16" wheels, powdercoated them black and mounted up 295/75-16's on them, which are 33.4" tall.
Upon mounting them at my local tire shop, the tech stopped because there was going to be interference issues. With the suspension in full droop, the UCA's seemed dangerously close to the tires in the front. In the rear, the remote reservoirs were going to interfere with the inside of the tires too. In fact, with the suspension hanging the rear end was askew and not centered under the truck. Is that normal?
So now I am back to the drawing board, trying to figure out how to make all this work. Although I am hoping I didn't just waste money on these wheels, I will buy something else if that's the only option. I really wish someone with the knowledge here would make a comprehensive list of 16" aftermarket wheels that are known to work on lifted 100's with large tires but all my searches yielded nothing. Should I run wheel spacers? Should I relocate the remote reservoirs in the rear? I'm pretty sure Icon had me mount them there for a reason? I appreciate all helpful thoughts, ideas and solutions.
Here are a couple photos to help you see what I am dealing with. Unfortunately, they were taken with the 18" wheels and the truck on the ground. I was kind of rushed when at the tire shop so I didn't think to take any photos when the truck had on the 16's and was on the lift.
