Dirt floor or concrete?

Concrete slab in the main 28' x 40' section, gravel under the lean-to. Confirmed delivery for next Tuesday (Nov 4) so looks like the next few weekends and pretty much every other spare minute for the next few weeks will be spent down on the farm. :smokin:

Dirt = bugs, Mama + bugs =, concrete = happy mama, Happy mama = happy Daddy!

All that plus my creepers don't like the dirt.

Anybody got an old wood stove that they need to part ways with? @htburnett that seems like something you might have stashed in the barn, or maybe @RSHARPfzj80

@htburnett if plans change lemme know. Gonna put Erin on the CL hunt soon.

Yeah it's going to take something big to keep that place warm.

55 gallon drum , cut off wheel , hinges , steel mesh and pipe = wood burning stove .

They make a nice kit for a two barrel stove, they work great my brother in law has one, only draw back is the cheap barrels you get today only last a couple years if you use it a lot.

I got a pretty decent BP Oil Barrel off of CL last week. I might have to look into something like that. My folks have an old wood stove that I am hoping is still in good shape that I can get for it. The big brown ones that have a high-low nob on the front.

Anybody ever wonder what it takes to build a pole barn.

Not sure the scale comes thru but the trusses in the background are 29' long. Guess what ima be doing the next few weeks...

Looks like fun! Get the fam to help out

Yeah, gonna get the folks to help out where they can.

Got lots of holes to dig so planning to rent a skid steer with an auger to throw those down and then get some posts up. Then LOT's of nails and screws.

Stay tuned

Gonna start a new thread either here or in the home improvement forum. I will link it once I get it started.

Here is where we left it today.

Doesn't look terribly impressive but it is perfectly square and that took ALOT of time. It is also really soft and I almost got the skid steer stuck more than once.

End of day tomorrow should look like a little more has happened since we got all the holes dug today so tomorrow will be setting line posts and starting on wall girts.

Well after another long day we are here.

3 sides up about half way. Top run is bracing from earlier, that will come down for wall girts next weekend so don't let their crookedness worry you. Those effin posts are heavy and a pain to man handle. Need to have a couple loads of gravel delivered this week to make sure we don't have to fight the mud as bad next weekend.

I will post more later. Tired and sore and off to bed.

Thanks bud. It was starting to dry pretty well by end of yesterday.

Suck part is I have been paying for it big time today. I haven't been out of bed more than a few hours all day. Not sure what I have but it is kicking my @$$.
