Hey, anybody know a good driveline shop in the Nashville or Murfreesboro area? I may need to have a rear shaft rebuilt on my 3rd gen and I'm looking for some recommendations.

Thanks

I used Clinards to balance The drive shafts on my 80. They've been around for eternity. There's another place called Dave's drive shaft, I don't have any experience with them, but they have good Google reviews.:meh:

I might have just joined the 4Runner club. Look what I just scored. This thing is sweet and from California. I can wait to clean it up and see it. 1985 efi and solid front axle, best of both worlds. Cali no rust truck, 2 old man owners. Kid drove it to KY and decided he didn't like it. Check out those original sr5 seats. :)

The ultimate 4Runner setup, damned nice rig right there. Good score!!

@wileycoyote you win MUD today. That has got to be one of the cleanest 1st gen SA 4Runners I've seen. And knowing you, you got a ridiculous deal on it. That thing would make an awesome daily driver, but you should be able to polish it up, clean the inside up and flip that puppy for a pretty penny.

I will say that I had to drive all the way to ft Campbell last night because he "had to have money" in the morning. ;) I do feel kinda bad for stealing it. My father is having a fit for it. I like it and might drive it for a bit. I agree it would be heck of a daily driver, I just can't afford to keep them all or I would. I will keep y'all posted on how it turns out.

@wileycoyote If your pops doesn't get it, I would be interested in what you'd need to make it worth your time. Erin has said she would daily one if it was the right one. That one is clean and might just be "the one" If you get ready to part ways with it, PM me or call or text me seven-3-one 6 9 seven three 2 9 zero. I'm gonna run it thru and see what she thinks, but if she likes it, then I'd like to put a place holder in to be second in line behind dad.

That all said, I also know what you have and know, depending on mileage, what it could be worth to you. And will be honest enough to say, I am pretty sure I won't be able to get into that realm. Honestly, and this is the old "Stay off my grass" man in me talking, but I don't want it to end up in some kids hands who is going to destroy that truck. Like Jason said, those rigs are getting harder to find and that one needs to be loved and enjoyed, but not abused.

I'm gonna start the process next week. I ordered a new tuff country spring for it today for it is bent. The water pump is leaking, and I'm going to do the timing chain on it. Other than that, detail it out and I have a feeling it will stay somewhere in the family herd. I actually tried talking my wife into it but she's not giving up the BMW. I agree it deserves to be taken care of. I can not believe how clean the frame is. It still shiny. I will keep you @jynx in mind on this one but really don't believe she's gonna get too far. ;). I turned down $4200 as she sat.

Hey man, I appreciate it. Look forward to seeing how it turns out. And I honestly don't blame you for keeping it.

The New Years ride was a long time ago, I'm ready to go wheeling, who's with me?

3 short hours and you can get to Chocco tomorrow

Wish I could, but my wallet dictates I must stay at work, headed to California but such is my life, hope you guys have a great time.
